I think it's funny that Akainu's jacket is still intact after all of the lava usage.

At the beginning of the Frieza Saga, base form Goku was stronger than First form Frieza, who was powerful enough to destroy an entire planet. I doubt a logia user would be harder to obliterate than a planet.

Well, say they were blasted and there arm was all that was left in the aftermath; it would likely return to its element form and reshape the user. Why? Because they still had a piece to regenerate from. Now if there was nothing left of them, then they clearly can't regenerate because nothing is left.

Ki is explosive energy, while haki is like an invisible force protecting you while letting you hit logia users.
His ki blast probably wont have much effect, since Akainu has already tried getting half of his body vaporized, and it didnt do anything. He just regenerated like nothing happened.
