    Hi, you asked what water filters other vanlifers use. Since Covid we have used a Pozzani IX600 carbon filter (direct from Pozzani) as its household size and easier to change the filters which cost less than £15 each we then pass it through a 12v UV water filter (ours is only 4LPM as only 2 of us but they do larger ones) from Direct Water Filters. We’ve used it all through Morocco in 2022 and drank the water no problems. Our German friends who only had a carbon filter got very ill drawing water from the same wells. We have the filters mounted under the sink so we can leave the tambour door up that covers them from the living area in the winter to stop them freezing up. But we also installed self heat regulating heating cable along the pipe from tank that comes on if it gets below 6 degrees. Hope this helps. Met you guys at Camper Campout last year. Glad to see your plans are working out. For your roof fittings try Hodgson Seamseal non-drying sealant. It’s used on the roofs of static caravans that have similar issues.

    Hi, i commented during your build about the rear top cupboards having a block under them to stop them dropping. not poking holes in your build here. converted a similar style roof on a luton van with fiberglass roof and metal ribs. might be worth checking if when your driving over bumps the weight may be hanging off your roof fixings and breaking the seal. with having foam board insulation it may just be tracking out at the skylight area, not leaking there, but also a weak point on all campers. when you can get up i would have someone below just giving top storage units a little tug down and see if theres any movement. hope you get it sorted. also you can try food cooking colourant in water from above to find source

    Having lived in Saudi Arabia for over 2 1/2 years, my wife went to the Souq and brought some Kaftans that were made of cotton and very cool. You must, must must learn to haggle and do not take pity on the shop owner, they expect to haggle over price, if you do not haggle they win big time. Don't be afraid to walk away from the seller and try another place, they will lower their price before you leave the shop. One other thing, keep a close eye on the children, they love children but some in the Souq can become 'over friendly' with young boys and girls.

      Yes, I agree regarding your comment about the kids - particularly as they are fair-haired. It was many years ago, but it was a real problem for my sister and I when we were there. Our parents had to have eyes in the back of their heads.

    • @Touringwiththekids
      @Touringwiththekids  Před 6 měsíci +1

      We're keeping them close. The blonde hair definitely attracts a bit of attention and they get a little stroke on the head every now and again, but it's pretty harmless. I think in the UK we are a bit stiff, so it can feel a bit much when we aren't used to it.

    • @timothywilson289
      @timothywilson289 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@Touringwiththekids That is good, I was careful how I phrased the comment. When I lived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, my sister in law, who then was 13, spent the summer holidays with my wife and I. She was very blond and I had warned her about the staring that would happen. But a 13 yo girl was not prepared for the overt staring, not really from the Saudis themselves, but from other people from the region working in KSA.
      10 years later, my wife and I took my children (daughter was 11 and son 9) to Tunisia. My daughter had long golden blond hair and was quite tall. My son had dark hair, but in one souq both had a tunisian arm put around their shoulders and the Tunisian who did it wanted to 'show them something"!! Luckily I can speak Arabic and told them clearly to stop what they were doing.
      My final point is, you may want to learn some arabic which is spoken along with Moroccan. I can send some simple phrases that may help you if you wanted them.
      One other thing, I love seeing what you all are up to. In my case I am going through some chemotherapy in hospital. Sometimes content providers do not realise the enjoyment and pleasure that you bring to those watching your videos. Thank you.
