Annie doesn't realize it but she was also my mother, as a young teen runaway in 1985, her words and music were my comfort, my role model, my inspiration. Lovely song!
Mine too... Not a runaway and in 1995 when my bio mum bought MEDUSA by mistake... But OH MY GOD that voice! Made me cry and soothed me at the same time.

It's really not a matter of forgetting the orchestra, and I do appreciate what they do, just that I have zero interest in them. I watched this video for the singers and would have done so had they been singing to recorded music or acapella or anything. So now I'll go away and never forget that Annoie Lennox has a daughter who is a very good singer but also never give another thought to the musicians doing what they like to do, albeit very well I'm sure. It's called perspective I think.

Annie just singing "hooo" in the background still dominates. She's got a quality. Her daughter is wonderful!
Annie? Is that the name of that backup singer? ;-) Seriously, Lola has a beautiful voice and does a great job with this song; but only a handful of singers can sing next to Annie, let alone in front of her. In a few years, Lola will probably be in that group. For now, though, Annie and she inspire a sun-moon comparison.
This isn't a criticism of Lola but of Annie. When she was starting out she would never have wanted Ella Fitzgerald or Etta James singing backup for her. But then, if one of them had offered, she probably wouldn't have been in a position to say no either. As a parent, sometimes you just have to stand back and let your kids shine on their own.

Just beautiful! Why would I ever think that Annie's daughter would have any less a voice. Magnificent. I need to get out more. I love Annie Lennox, especially from the days of the Eurythmics. And this time of year, Christmas, Annie's rendition of Winter Wonderland will never be surpassed in my book. Annie, we are the same age. Your voice has always drawn me toward your performances like a moth to a flame. again, just beautiful! Merry Christmas.

Lola has a bright, youthful voice and Annie's is darker, with a richness. Lola, you can hear her momma in her voice some. That is just lovely.

Heard this on Radio 2 this afternoon. Thought it was an old classic that I had not heard before. I nearly cried when I saw Annie Lennox joining in with daughter. Very good song and what a beautiful young lady.

Annie Lennox is one of music's greatest voices. Her voice is so superior that it was double tracked on her songs. I can listen to her sing all day. Lola has a beautiful voice, but since she's Annie Lennox's daughter, she will be compared with her mom. It's like the son/daughter of a superior athlete or entertainer - they're good/great but their parent is one-of-a-kind.

Just stumbled across this one. These vids of 80s stars singing with their kids have definitely become a new phenomenon! Love this one to bits with Annie (sounding as good as ever) in a rocking t-shirt and yeah the combination of their voices is awesome. If anybody's interested, there's a pretty cool one of Curt Smith (from Tears for Fears) playing 'Mad World' with his daughter. But yeah, massive congratulations to the Lennox ladies - nailed it completely, and it's a cool uplifting song.
