Google makes it necessary to add billing details. You can add details, but you will not be charged unless you use paid Google apis

Hey, you might be creating your new project in Android Studio as Jetpack Compose project.
When you are creating new project try to select Empty Activity template in Android studio.

@@pattymatty633 google requires a credit card. I limited the api usage to only the current application. There is a free usage limit that google allows. My only fix is to not go over. Also , don't put your api keys on your app. You can use .gitignore and gradle to hide your api key and not upload it by accident.
