  • A more extensive London walk around Covent Garden looking at the history, vice and how it almost got destroyed to make way for a motorway. The Covent Garden Trust ensure that this will never happen again and asked me to talk about all the great buildings in Covent Garden and the debauched, fascinating, important, historical events it has seen down the years.
There's the British Communist Party, Winnie the Pooh, The Queen's toilet and plenty of prostitution.
A trip to the London Transport Museum, Samuel Pepys, The King and his mistress, Casanova and Oscar Wilde and the invention of the police force.
Of course Covent Garden wouldn't be the same with the entertainers.

The best part of waking up here in Nova Scotia, hungover from the drink and a hard weeks work of cheffing, is getting a tour of London every Sunday from a 100% stand up chap named Joolz...Brother i will crack a beer with u someday ! Cheers from the other side of the pond

I love Covent Garden and when my eldest daughter grew up she said she would buy me a pint... So not one to refuse such an offer I took her to the Punch and Judy where she duely keep her promise but declaring that this must be the most expensive pint in the whole of London. I think not but she hasn't bought one since! Great walk - loved the Opera House armourer!

Hey Jools, I’ve just received the nod that you’ve uploaded a new presentation. I just know it’s gonna be enjoyable and refreshing. Your shows bring light relief in these times of madness. Thanks for this Jools. Regards, Dave

I watch joolz videos for learning English. At first, I didn't used to understand what he is saying. But now, I am literally understanding all his words.

Getting your bowler hat is getting kicked out the RAF and being given your civilian suit that comes with a bowler hat

I wonder if, "You'll get your bowler hat" might have meant that the person would be dishonourably discharged and become a civilian and therefore wear a bowler hat, civilian headgear rather than military headgear.

I’m from London, loved visiting Covent Garden over the years, I performed as a child at the opera house in Wagners Rhinegold, great experience

I thank the local people for saving Covent garden from what could've been a truly unforgivable. A motorway! To what? There'd be no London to visit if they had their way.

My one and only trip to London was in the summer of '84 and I well remember Mr. Sinclair and his guitar.

What a wonderful video! I lived in London in 1986-1987 and worked at The Covent Garden Wine Bar. Gone now, but had such wonderful times in and around Covent Garden. So glad to see it’s still bustling and thriving!
