This rifle has been around for a number of years. 10 years ago I held one and walked away from it. It took me 10 years to find another one. Once people have them they keep them. Lucky for me I found one in a local pawn shop. Great rifle and it will always have a home in my safe never to leave my hands again. Stay safe out there and keep the powder dry.

I was able to find one on gunbroker paid more than I wanted to but seeing as they are discontinued, and hard to find I think it's a great investment
I finally found a used 7.62,/308 version about a year ago for $275 at a small local gun store.....bought it instantly and put a 1x6x24 scope on it amd habe csrried it everywhere as my woods/ truck gun ever since i got it
I just bought the 7.62x51 nato version, absolutely love it.

Practicality. my AR and hunting rifle... Same caliber same magazine interchangeability. Personally I'm liking the MVP Predator in laminate wood stock. If SHTF you have the gear and one caliber to stockpile.
Got myself a 556 rifle recently. Norinco jw 105 and its a 5 shot steel single stack magazine with reddot tasco sight. I love this new rifle and will buy a box of surplus ammo to shoot. 55 grains and less for the 1- 12 twist.

Super cool. All these mossberg rifle are. Seems like the scout has a ability over the patrol. Which is using the irons while scope is mounted . Im not sure though
I want it in 556 and 308. And doesn’t seem like you have the rail space for a magnifier as well as that reddot ?
Put an Sig red dot on mine, elevated so I can use the iron sights.
Doesn’t like tin AR magazines, operates flawlessly with P-Mag

What distance is your red dot sight set for and what moa is your dot sight. Mine is a tube style 5 moa with circle dot. In the spring time i want to set this rifle for 200 or even 300 yards.
50/200. I am a fan of this battle zero as my range maxes out at 200.

Mine is in 7.62x51 (308).
Out of the box the rifle had horrible feeding problems. I ordered the Tromix mag well upgrade and the feeding problem got better. However, there is always that nagging feeling that the bolt will hang up just when the trophy animal comes into view or God forbid, you need to chamber a round to protect yourself. By the way, the mag well upgrade was not cheap and one shouldn't go to this extreme but the feeding issues was just too much.
Where are you finding these Mossberg rifles?
Every model of MVP rifle is sold out everywhere I look.
We get them directly from the manufacture. As far as I can tell in our distribution chain they’re sold out. Sorry I can’t be of help locating one for you. Best bet is to contact a local dealer and have them call their distribution and see if they can get out on a list. Most likely an allocated item. Good luck

I dropped the $90 for the metal Tromix for no wobbles and no tape making it a MVP only mag. I have 3 of the 10 rounders that came with it and a PMag from prior guns.
What is the Tromix you mention?
@@odinsfire1409 The replacement magazine well that is metal. So far it’s a super tight fit using the mods mags and the p mags. Haven’t tried the metal ones PSA ships with that 10+ case deal a few years back.

The magazine catch is horrible, I mean piss-me-off bad! I have it 5.56 and is very very accurate, but the changing of magazines makes me not ever use this rifle, I perfer my Ruger American

I've some experience shooting it before I'd have to say it's almost idiot proof ....
As long as it's not an extremely windy day 20mph + and your Gun is sighted in It will hit wherever you put the crosshairs and the drop is probably about 20 to 40% less than if I shoot my 308 At a Target at about 800-900 yards.
7mm 08 is a relevant calibre not sure why more of scout guns don’t use it ..
