The fact that they follow up "CPU from hell" with multiple instances of Genocide Cutters back-to-back is what makes this trailer amazing.

The fact that Team Garou came out like a few days ago and we’re already getting news about another new character is crazy to me. The fact that Rugal is going to be free is also crazy, most companies wouldn’t think twice about making us pay for a character like him (Akuma in SFV, Shao Kahn in MK11). Looks like SNK is definitely living up to the shatter all expectations moto.
Capcom would charge you just to look at Akuma. Plus, they put ads in their games before every rounds ... I mean seriously... can't even bring myself to like SFV

SNK! You have no idea how I've longed for this guy to return! I have a love/hate relationship with Rugal but you can't help but like him despite the PTSD he induced in us back in KOF '94 because of his charismatic design and personality. He is THE SNK Boss, and by extension, the OG Boss of fighting games. The ONE that started it all! Seeing him return after 27 years into the KoF Canon brings nothing but smile to my face and I hope he stays with us for a very long time.
I may sound like a masochist here but I'm ready to have my butt kicked HARD again, and no one does it better than Rugal himself!

I like that Rugal show his skills against the original protagonist of KOF (Kyo and Heidern) and later in Rugal Omega Form, show his true potential against the new protagonist of KOF XV, showing them the meaning of true terror.

There actually used to be a series of KoF figures, and one was Omega Rugal. If you got all of them, you would actually get pieces to allow you to pose the Omega Rugal figure in his Gravity Smash shield. Never saw a physical, but I saw plenty of images.

I think Goenitz and Krizalid have chances of making it, but I wouldn’t hold out hope for the others.
If only Goenitz and Rugal finally interacted with each other, maybe Rugal would finally have vengeance for his eye 😂
Aside from Orochi which would need to be resurected by Chris and Saiki who has been erased from time , all the others are alive.
Shion is still in another dimension without Magaki to bring him back though so .... I guess he is out of the picture too.

Welcome back Rugal, we needed a harder challenge to face.
Not sure what surprises me more:
- Return of Rugal as a Free DLC character (I mean, FREE one of the most popular bosses of KOF)
- Includes a New Boss battle Mode.
- Movements are amazing and looks like combine perks from previous appearances.
- Rugal has like two themes
- Apparently Rugal is able to shoot ocular laser beams now 👽🔫
I mean, he could already do so in 98 (as an intro, mind you) but to weaponize it as an attack in the vein of Dizzy's Imperial Ray...hm.
He doesn't seem to have kaiser wave though, replaced by the eye beam?

One version is the playable normal version and the one in the boss mode is another overpowered one.
That would be best to keep the boss one unplayable , bosses should never be playable.

This is DEFINITELY the highlight of the Roundtable announcements, Rugal looks absolutely incredible
… you know, I’m impressived how similar he looks to his Shinkiro adaptation despite the shading being more in-line with Eisuke Ougra’s art style
_Though I really hope his vanilla version has Kaiser Phoenix though, it just looks too cool not to be in,_ that and he seems to leans towards the KOF 02 version

This video deserves one million of views
I love how Omega Rugal now has moves from every incarnation all together in one moveset, plus a few added touches for extra flair. Some details:
- His taunt has his 2002 quote, and the pose during the boss segment has his old round winquote from 98 and 2002. I'm also nearly certain his other quotes are references to his previous ones as well, and that he'll have match winquotes that reference his old ones.
- His model is incredibly faithful to the sprites, even with his knockdown attack angled lower.
- Genocide Cutter, as far as I can tell, is both the normal version (light) and Omega version (heavy), with the EX version being the 2002 version.
- He has *both* of his iconic boss themes referenced. I wish Last Dance got referenced, but who knows. Maybe we'll hear the leitmotif in one of the tracks for real.
- Laser eye super is basically Imperial Ray from Guilty Gear, from a couple former boss characters there. He inspired bosses to have horrifying anti-airs, it is only fair he takes inspiration from others for other moves in return. It's gone full circle. It *also* low key reinforces the fact that his fighting style is a composite of multiple styles.
- His Climax super. Where to begin...? Starting attack appears to be Gravity Smash, followed by his usual Omega Genocide Cutter only it now ends with the last hit of heavy Beast Destruction, then finally ends with Kaiser Wave taken to Dragon Ball extremes. This beats out even Re Verse's and Otoma=Raga's Climax supers in terms of sheer flashy awesomeness, in my opinion.
We missed you, Rugal. Welcome back to KoF canon, and *please* refrain from blowing yourself up for a few games this time.

I like the way his moveset works and he's THE SNK boss, so seeing him go back to not existing is worrying. Especially with all the teasers across the series hinting at his return now.

also, his Climax Super quote has the same quote as his Super Max from 2002 " Chiri ni kaeru ga ii!". Pretty much his taunts, win quote(non-match win), attacks(even supers) and other are really a reference to both his 2002 and 98 incarnations

Goenitz will definitely return but hopefully they'll wait a year or so before releasing him.
I want to see at least 1 boss from each Saga.
I think, for example, Krizalid would be a good playable character on top of being a good boss syndrome character while I think Igniz and the Zeroes are too busted.

I'm maining this guy when I get the game. I don't care if people see Rugal as cheap when he's on the roster as a normal fighter, I'm playing him because I like seeing boss fighters as regular fighters.
The reason this is free is because not to spend money on the dlc but instead spending money buying a new controller because you will either broke it from spamming or destroy it from rage quitting due to genocide cutter.

Rugal volvió, y volvió mejorado.
El primer rugal parece la combinación del rugal de kof94 y rugal de kof98 por su modo de pelea mas su nuevo ataque con el ojo es sorprendente.
Ahora el rugal nightmare viene siendo el rugal definitivo ya que posee técnicas mejoradas un nuevo diseño que hace pensar que sus poderes se mezclan al fin con los de orochi y más un clímax o especial que es devastador sin duda rugal regreso después de casi 20 años a romper desde el clásico control arcade hasta los joysticks mas resistentes.

Can't wait for Team South Town. Hoping for more longtime-absent, classic OGs like Eiji, Takuma, & Seisyu. I don't wanna see compromised dlc picks, like what happened with seasons 2 & 3 of SamSho. DLC characters for KoF 15 are greatly superior, thus far.

They mixed 98 and 2002 versions in one, that Kaiser Wave from the sky is awesome and that beam like Devil Kazuya, looks amazing! Hope they give him a proper story and a lot of interactions with Heidern, Kyo, Chris and even Geese in the future. And of course, stay like the rest of returneds! Hope an interaction too with Adel and Rose.
I love how the announcer doesn't say Rugal's name. The man simply speaks for himself.
