Daaaamn đ„, from Peru đ”đȘ
thanks alot bro
dope
The tips in this video is unmatched 4 years later.
Favorite drake album for sure
Hey nice tutorial CJ. While in the piano editor, to move all midi notes up or down an octave, press cmd A to highlight all notes then press option + shift and the up arrow or down arrow. Makes it so much faster.
thanks for that knowledge!!
thanx
Drake would go off on this beat. Iâm picturing how he would do his slow type of mysterious dance in the video already.
Thx for the tutorial, it helps alot. What was that intro beat?
Fire! Got a new Sub here...
U are the best !!!!!!
thx! đ đ đ
đŒđđŸđŒ
You know you're like the greatest right? Like I fuckn love this video
đđŒđđŒđđŒ
that first sound thođ
word
Wow fucking props CJ!! The sampling your own melody and then chopping it up really opened up a whole new dimension for me! Clever fr! You're a genius! Your tutorials are seriously the best!! The detail you provide in them is amazing, thanks man.
thanks man, I appreciate the kind words! Stay tuned
that was dope. reminds me of the evil dead movie scene with the piano playing it self. but with those sample in the exs24, were you still paying in the c harmonic minor key or did the key change?
When you're in the piano roll, how do you have that section at the bottom open? The controller section where you can easily edit note velocity? These are wonderful, thanks so much for posting them!
hey plz do more beat tutorials, logic tutorials be dry out here haha
I understand that you are very good at this but I would appreciate and I think other people would too if you explained what you were doing and how to know what notes to pick and stuff.
hey man your tuts are very informative. do I have to save my 808/HiHat samples individually onto ESX24 for me to be able to pitch them? when I ever I load a pack I can't pitch them!
Cool! Which kind of drum sounds do you use? Stocksounds from Logic? Electronic Drum Kit?
yo honestly, you're ridiculously dope af and salute for giving away so much game. All of these tutorials would make a profitable online course ;)
hope to collab one day â
Thanks man, i think I'm going to keep them free for now. Subscribers can support by purchasing kits from freakquincy.com! :)
thats a win-win, good idea
He CJ. Do you use side chain compression at all in hip hop beats like this? great work here, learned a lot
thanks man, i use compression for my kick and snares, but thats about it!
woulda been dope if you brought back in the first melody part for the hook. This is sick though !
sorry, noob question man. super helpful video. one thing though, when youre clicking with your brush tool, are those notes automatically snapping to the scale you quantized to? how do I do that? Saves alot of time rather than highlighting then quantizing. thanks bro!
hold alt and drag for copy paste. way easier.
thanks for the advice!
GOLD!!!!!!!!!!
+Skratch Poop đ
bro you don't even know how long i been tryna find this out for logic!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
no doubt, stay tuned! got more coming. Tutorials drop every Sunday.
Hey CJ I really appreciate you making these tutorials, they are extremely helpful!
How do you zoom in and out of the piano roll and make the notes appear bigger? Are you using a mouse or something? This is a really dumb question I know, but it would be very helpful if you could simplify that for me.
Thanks man
I figured it out no need to reply lol
glad it worked out
Dude! Tf were u thinking passing up that sound at 31:39 that sounded amazing
Awesome tutorial!! Easy to follow along. But how do I get the drum kit and 808 to sound like how you did?
Amelia J you can download the entire project file, all sounds are included! Also check out freakquincy.com for more sounds đ„đ„đ„
Okay! Thank you so much!
Holy shit a drake tutorial that actually sounds like a drake beat wow
When you're dragging your midi notes down an octave you can just hold shift+alt(option) and press down on the arrow key and it will do an octave for you.
thanks for the knowledge!
you're friction' awesome..dang
+Jeong Hun John đ thx bro
Notification gang!
+Yafet Yohannes đŻ
YouÂŽve helped me a lot! Watching all the way from Sweden
+Yafet Yohannes glad to help bro, stay tuned! Big shoutout to Sweden, alot of peeps dont know that some of the worlds biggest records were all written and produced in Stockholm!
Facts đŻ
i usually just use one of the kits in logic for the hi hat. how were u able to be able to change the pitch of the hi hats without them going to a different instrument?
Can you do a video on how to make a Mark Battles type beat? (In logic pro x)
God damn bro your shit is nasty af...Every tutorial i've heard from you BANGS
thx man! stay tuned
Dope tutorial bro! But how can I use your kick/snare/hihat on my project? (if i can?)
yeah man, just give me credit
hey cj, what do you do if you have a drum kit that has 32 sample bit rate and exs doesnt support it. is there any way to change the sample bit rate? thanks, and great tutorial. it definitely sounds like a more life beat
you can try just dragging it to the time line then from the timeline into the exs24 edit window...
word, thanks. ill try that
download this software called 32Lives, you'll thank me later lol
@Nez Martin : 32lives is for 32-bit plugins to run in Logic X as a bridge it's absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with 32-bit sound samples.
BANG 100 !
+KnockSquared đđđ
How do you mske your voice sound so nice
you should try to make an ambient travis scott kind of beat tutorial, that'd be dope af
you got it fam, added to the list.
free smoke free smoooke
Yo man, could you please do a tutorial on how to go about "blending/gluing" two different sounds/instruments, allowing them to work well together. I can never find suitable instruments that work well together.
Thanks.
train your ears bro, sometimes it takes time to find a matching sound. Stick with it and you'll get better at this. This isn't really something I can teach you, because its a gut instinct type of thing...
in the video you said youd give us some vocal samples.. Where are they? great tutorial though btw
sick vid man but I don't have alchemy, do you know why?
in the very begining of the vid , u had an intro beat playing which i guess was your own version of the beat u just made , the melody played then it kinda did a tape stop and faded out right before the beat dropped , how did u do that
could you do a mixing mastering tutorial? I feel like I can't get the sounds I want without clipping the audio.
indeed, i need to make a new one
yo do you still have those vocals? I would love them if you do
Do you know something about mixing r&b vocals?
Hey man i have a question i am a fl studio guy but got a macbook air for grad present and i got logic pro x. and i was wondering on how do you get like different drum kits? because in fl studio you download them and then put them in your fl file and you're done. is it the same for logic because all the videos I've watched don't make sense lol.
+Lxo yup pretty much the same thing you you can browse and click and drag them into a sampler in your project. I show that in almost all my new tuta bro
I have a nap book pro , but I'm running out of memory getting samples and what not, what can I do to have more space??
can i run logic pro x off an external hard drive as i dont have enough storage space on my macbook ??
