- The Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians are a mountain range system across Central and Eastern Europe. They are the third-longest mountain range in Europe after the Ural Mountains and Scandinavian Mountains. The Carpathians consist of a chain of mountain ranges that stretch in an arc from the Czech Republic in the northwest through Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Ukraine, Serbia and Romania in the southeast. The highest range within the Carpathians is the Tatras, on the border of Slovakia and Poland. The second-highest range is the Southern Carpathians in Romania.
The largest range is the Tatras in Poland and Slovakia. A major part of the western and northeastern Outer Eastern Carpathians in Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia is traditionally called the Eastern Beskids. Section of the Carpathians within borders of Ukraine is commonly known as the Ukrainian Carpathians. Classification of eastern sections of the Carpathians is particularly complex, since it was influenced by several overlapping traditions. Terms like Wooded Carpathians, Poloniny Mountains or Eastern Beskids are often used in varying scopes by authors belonging to different traditions.

One can hear and feel the transition to Balkan music. So full of cultural richness and variety!
I am amazed by the fact that most of eurasia is unknown to the rest of the people of the world, but it is an incredibly diverse and rich place.
@@malahamavet Eurasia is a very broad and general term, encompassing all of Europe and all of Asia.
Which means both Balkans and Eastern europe is included.
I agree. Westerners are narcissistic
@@claudiakramer4516 not true
@@claudiakramer4516 When you, yourself, are probably a Westerner. If you're from a European Country, United States of America or Canada - then you're a Westerner.
@@alexanderwells5393 while you yourself are also a westerner, and do not understand why not all of Europe qualifies as westerners.
I don't understand a word of this music but I love it!
Beautiful music, reminds me of the Witcher games.
Greetings (Dorood) from Shiraz, Iran.
Persian ♥️
We are brother's hood. Greathings from Serbia.
You can immediately detect the melody and distinguish it from Southern Slavic folk music. Very beautiful.
Except for Ramo druze moj of course
Immediately it's Ukrainian music tho
but i hear also very much oriental and other styles here....think it very modern bands using many rhytm....
@@damaslpressath Only the last 4-to-6 songs/music tracks have an Oriental (Ottoman Turkish) influence; the rest figuratively drew from traditional eastern European musical traditions.
@@user-fv4sr5eq5h What is except for the last few songs/music tracks, I say yes to that.
their voices are beautiful
I haven't loved one of these so much since the circassian chants!
Beautiful music. There's so much more than traditional Western European music to experience.
This is technically Eastern European Music.
@@AgonxOCExactly. That´s what I'mm saying. I grew up listening to just one aspect of it.
In ancient times the West would have had a vibration sound to them as well. You can still hear it in Knight templar chants. But when the West started to work in harmony (forming the music we used today) first in the church started to add many voices over each other. So they had to change the words to have a more clear sound because when you layer 30 voices on top of each other it can sound crazy. They can't all have a sounding like this you hear in the video. 😊😊
the melody is a mix of Carpathian and Eastern European motifs. Balkan motif as well. But the song is Ukrainian. Almost literary language.
and many greek, oriental and gypsy-romany style.....i think it is very modern free style :) also there is a very eastbavarian rythm with oriental drums....i love :)
@@damaslpressath I don't understand anything of eastern european folk music, but i was thinking to myself. These are very modern takes of folk songs.
Some of the music is literally bulgarian
Thanks a lot! Your channel is the most amazing thing I discovered in CZcams! Great great job!
Супер музика.

my dog comes from romania so i turned the music on now she is dancing all sort of dances. :s and before i knew it i was dancing too.

Wow wow wow. Very impressive.
Welcome to the Balkan (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North-Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria)

Kosovo is not a country so I have no idea why you even mentioned it

@@bloody_peach Sure lol A nation that isn't in the UN and is recognized by less than half the world's countries. Dream on.
Very interesting and culturally rich music ...
A Hungarian song is missing. Hungary also has part of the Carpathian Mountains in the country
all songs are modern interpretation, also i can hear some hungarian chants but mixed with some greek and even more oriental style....and roma-gypsy style...very nice i love nice not really clearly karpatian...
This is one of those things I can only describe as so beautiful it hurts (well, except when that annoying wind instrument is used:-)). @@clairmarlo1 LOL, as I always say: what feels like paradise for some, is hell for others and vice-versa, the same about what looks beautiful and ugly. These subjective impressions hinge a lot on how the ones experiencing them feel about them.

You can upload some Greek rebetiko music ? Is very popular among the Greeks worldwide
Brilliant suggestion! I second this.
+London Power
Greek (and Turkish) Rebetiko music and songs by Marika Papagik and, Roza Eskenazi are among the best in Greek music!
@@StevenVillman there is not Turkish rebetiko
It's not traditional though, it's closer to folk
@@achilleasvryniotis4002 all folk music is part of traditional, and so is rebetiko. I know that Greeks have a weird perception of what is traditional and what not, but globally a music doesn't need to be 500 years old to be traditional. Foggy dew is a 50-60 years old, but if you tell an Irish "it's not traditional Irish music" he will look at you like you are an outer space creature.
The same of course goes for elafrolaika, kantades etc they are all traditional Greek, even though they are not dimotika
LONG LIVE BALKAN
Culture is everything
The people in the image are wearing Macedonian nosijas (clothing) from North Macedonia. The type of music they would dance to is part of the second half of the video. Cheers great music :)

In Ukraine we use the same clothes. I think all eastern European and Balkan cultures are quite blended.

Err... not a didgeridoo, this Carpathian Ukrainian instrument is called "trembita", and it is quite long (3 to 5 meters) wooden pipe.
