I love how the judges instantly got up and ran over to assist her. That had to be a very frightening experience for everyone and her but I'm glad she's ok. My prayers go out to her. I hope she's doing better. Thank you judges and everyone else who assisted.

@Ben she probably was in a state of shock so thats why she didnt get a chance to get up there right away. Everyone reacts differently to these types of situations, and also at 3:45 you can see that she eventually came up on stage and checked to see if she was doing alright.
@Ben I think she was in shock. Katie herself collapsed and fainted onstage at one of her concerts. She was probably in shock knowing what that is like.
@Ben that's not rude. If you make a crowd, they won't be able to help this person. If I wasn't a doctor/nurse and there were already people around her, I wouldn't run there either.

She was nervous and locked her knees. It causes fainting. She fell forward because she's wearing heels. It happens all the time to soldiers standing at attention in formation.

As a performer, this is reality. You get overwhelmed, you get physically and/or mentally sick. I have seen performers do the same thing during stress, or even overheat due to the lights. Thank god she did not hurt herself any more seriously, and kudos to the judges and the show for reacting so quickly!!

Iâve worked as lifeguard and trained using CPR with a defib; letâs all thank and praise the quick intervention and necessary steps from the contestant, judges and paramedics on coming to aid this lady. These scenarios are very scary and they all stayed calm and acted accordingly! Dehydration is no joke and can kill easily, Iâm just glad sheâs well and safe.

In real life Paramedics take 15 mins to respond. That was some quick response time. Could be an editing thing? Could be staged? I can fake fall on my face. This show is a joke.

My heart goes OUT to these singing show contestants, only God knows how much pressure and anxiety, probably depression, constantly having to feel like you have to battle or go against someone to secure a spot literally every week, trying to not eat to much of the wrong thing or trying to eat less & sing more just so you can cope with all the pressure around you, itâs tough! I pray she has a SPEEDY recovery.

I was more worried about the damage she might have done to herself from the fall than the actual passing out. Seeing her head hit and bounce made me audibly gasp and tense up. Sounds like no concussion or broken teeth/bones. Just some stitches... It was scary as hell to watch, but glad this wasn't something that would have affected her ability to continue. I feel like they were classy in the way they responded and aired it.

Reminds me of a girl who deals with Seizures. She had one when she was on the show. She didn't even get a chance to sing before she got what is called an 'Aura' and got of the stage as fast as she could. Later that day she returned to sing. She got one heck of an applause. She didn't let that stop her.

Auras are like the a silence before the storm. I'm an epileptic and they are a life safer sadly not everyone has auras. Once I felt them coming I knew it was time to alert someone near me or to sit down.

Yeppers...you are right. "but she wasn't perfect" neither are you, Katie Perry, many so-called stars with good voices have bad nights in performance. These are both very young performers, probably lacking a great deal of performing on this level. Iâm so glad that someone understands what can happen when someone is under more stress than the body can handle! I could see the second that self doubt took over her, and then the judges were beating up on her after she was already beating up on herself! Stop making TV shows that have such mean spirited judges! The woman already knew she let her nerves get to her confidence! They could have been constructive and supportive! Passing out is a common problem when the nervous system is completely overwhelmed!
I thought it may have been a low blood sugar. I have had diabetic seizures before. They're not the typical seizure with shaking. Everything locks up, and you have a hard time with words.

Thank God Funke is ok! The way she was so supportive and encouraging Rhonda really touched my heart and then when she fell Rhonda immediately was there for her! Staying with her until she was unable to any longer so that the EMTs could take care of her. Rhonda you are just the sweetest thing ever and I want to see you go so far! She locked her knees while standing. thats the first lesson kids learn when they join ROTC OR CAP (CIVIL AIR PATROL) while standing at attention don't lock your knees you will pass out every time. Sending Prayers
When we were rehearsing in our highschool auditorium this kid locked his knees and just from the heat of the lights on the stage he ended up passing out. The teachers treated it horribly though. They're lucky he didn't end up severely injured or paralyzed and a few of us me included are kids of medics/doctors and they refused to listen to us because "we were kids and didn't know what we were talking about" I believe they did get in trouble tho for not following basic first aid. But it's crazy how just locking your knees can cause people to collapse like that. Hers was clearly anxiety too but locked knees just made it worse

I don't know what is about this years American Idol, but is a certainly a emotional one for me. I have not watched the show for a very long time. This year, I have been tuned in, following every detail and crying emotionally. I have fell in love with all 3 judges and can't stop playing Lionel Richie's songs, listening to Katie talk, and enjoying Luke voice talk and sing. I love every contestant this year. Great team of judges and great selected of contestants. You all got me messed up emotionally and excited too!
I like how that first responder grabbed the poor girl's hand at 03:31, although a way to test for neurological symptoms, she also lets her know she's there and in good hands to help ease the shock.
I love this panel of judges. They are so kind and caring. I really hope they continue with their American idol careers. Also I hope that girl is OK! They both are amazing singers:)

In all fairness, at first Katy looked shocked, and held her head in her hands in disbelief and shock. Then she stood up and looked very concerned and upset. Everyone reacts differently in these situations. I'm so glad the singer who collapsed is much better. đđđ

I agree. Most the time you can feel something is wrong and you can sit or ask for help before you actually pass out. Not always though. This happened to me. I told the girl I felt dizzy and they stopped the training and had me sit down. I didnt faint thank God
This is so true. Iâve blacked out a few times and itâs like you can feel the âlightsâ going out in your entire body. I think thereâs a natural instinct to âfightâ instead of âflightâ and just being in denial that you donât have control over your own body. Man. So scary!

@@DimBeam1 she busted her chin and had to receive stitches. If you're aware of your body and feel yourself fading you can avoid damage. It happened to me at home my floor is tile and i didn't receive any damage.

These judges are the sweetest judges ive ever seen. Especially when lonal comforted the other girl who was ipset over her friend passing out. My heart practily melted when linol told her they were family. And i loved the way the judges handled the situation

You have to drink a lot of water singing...or you will hurt yourself. That is one of my issues...I have to drink lots of water especially wearing the mask
Oh it was a dehydration collapsed. Ok for a moment I thought she had a drop seizure. Because really that was sort of how they happen. Standing all firm one moment and the splat on the ground if no one has the chance to grab and lessen the compact of fall. But the body is dead weight so they weigh even more than before.

Personally, I felt like Lionel was a little "off" by starting out telling them it was a "train wreck" and that "she crashed and burned" and the look on their faces should have been a red light, but he kept on .. until he didn't ... and, then, he told the girl that he was just getting ready to tell them they were both going through ..... with a beginning like that .... bothered me ... I would have lost all hope waiting for him to get through that tough critique .. they were nervous anyway and their body language was clear to me... I believe Lionel is a good man ... but, people take their words to heart .. and sometimes, their heart can't take it. Judges should be more careful with words .... WORDS will cause happiness, hope, devastation, shock .. .and , who knows. I know that must have scared the judges to the moon and back .. they really can be TOO critical, and cause someone to go home and just not come back, or ever sing again.... they have to weigh their words...

Poor lady she was great .we the people are behind her . May she be well . We all love her . My three grand children were in bits . They send their love and please be well . Xxx
