Invest More
The MLS has a Salary Cap which makes it very difficult to bring in good defenders. It usually means the offensive/attacking players are way better than the defense in this league. It is unusual, but it’s done this way for a reason.

The goalie didn’t seem to be in the center, biased toward the spot less obstructed by his teammates it seemed? Don’t know the sport enough. But if you know its Messi, shouldn’t players be more evenly spread and goalie stand guard at the center? I did slow mo play back and realized it got over the head of that jumping player by a literal hair to sneak into that corner. Extremely tiny margin for any error. Would he stand better chance waiting in the center?
Incidentally, to play some mind game, its Messi anyway… why everybody just got out of the way and let him kick it like penalty. At least that give the goalie better view and judgment of where that ball can go. Looked like those players were doing not much good blocking the view.
@@kawingchan Yeah the goalie is standing off to the side so that he can see the ball being kicked. The job of the wall is to block the entire left half of the goal, so the goalie can take the right half. From that distance it takes a lot of skill to be able to get the ball up and over the wall and quickly get back down below the crossbar. Unless of course you’re Messi. So it’s the right strategy, it’s just that Messi is incredibly talented is all.
