Hey Hank, I got the Homestead grapple on my T574. You're cycles much faster then mine. I think I have the heavier model rated 50 to 110 HP. It's a beast. Probably has larger cylinders. I just got done with tree cleanup after have a couple of monster NY oaks and a giant Cottonwood were dropped. Some of the branches are probably thicker than anything on your property!. Cleanup was a breeze with the T574. For the finer stuff I opened the grapple and backed dragged into a pile then rolled and closed into it. Got big mouthfuls every time. I was worried about back dragging but I didn't have any issues at all, however I was pretty careful about it. God bless and be well.
I have a sub-compact tractor with a backhoe. I usually use the backhoe to dig around and break up as many roots as I can. Then if the sub-compact tractor won't push the tree over, I also have a skid steer with a grapple on it that I'll use.
Howboutcha! If the stihl sharpener is anything like the husqvarna one its impossible to mess up sharpening the chain just about ! I have done so many years with just a round fike that it is a treat to use the guided ones now and know its perfect
Only tractor i ever rolled over was pushing trees over when i was about 12 on the farm after my grandpa told me not to . It went down then back up and i was on just enough of a hill to tip it over , nobody hurt no equipment hurt but i learned a valuable lesson
Yup, buckinbillyray is the man. He is just a good guy that does good things for people. Also love his old work trucks. Probably should have notched the tree a little to keep it from “barber chairing” on you. Enjoying your videos just the same. Keep on keeping on 😊..
Thanks for another video hank. It was interesting and enjoyable. I think on this tree the chainsaw was the best thing to do. You cut it down quickly so is better than messing with the tractor. Even the pine was best cut up. Pretty easy to damage a tractor trying to knock a tree over. You got them both down and out of the way and that is what you were after. You mentioned this was first video with this tractor. Did you get a new tractor?????! Guess that is it for now. Good work getting those trees out of your way. Take care and be safe. Be safe!!!!!!! Hate to say it, but I saw the potential grapple damage and the barber chair on the tree before you even finished with the cut. Don't think this video served to do anything but present examples of what not to do with tools and equipment. Many a guy has put a radiator and more out of commission riding up a tree with a bucket/grapple like you tried to do. Snapping the top of that pine off and having it come down on top of you is yet another hazard you avoided, this time. I hope you remain lucky !!
Yeah you gotta be careful for sure. Not a lot of pressure on that grapple and loader. Just a few "test pushes" I'm not really a big risk taker so this was acceptable in my opinion. Thanks for the comment👍

In my past life as a skidder driver in the logging woods, it was easier to push a tree over if I pushed against the lean.
Hank, I like the message on your shirt.
Thank you

Thanks, Hank. Very educational video for someone not familiar with using a tractor, or chainsaw. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you

Great video Hank, after watching you use that Homestead Grapple I am going to order one for my John Deere 4044R! Thank you!
Thanks. I'm a big fan!
I usually use my bucket to dig down and break the roots on the pushing side before knocking the tree over. Makes it a lot easier.
Gonna send you a decal when I get them made! Lastly, I appreciate your nods to safety.

😳
One of the guys I go to church with his brother just died when a log rolled down the loader arms and crushed him.
God bless you all!
Yeah gotta be careful!
Greetings from Reno, Nevada.
I take my root rake grapple and work my way under stump, pushing as I go. Usually works but hot chainsaw as plan B
Right on.
Great video 📹
God Bless
Thank you! You too!
Howdja wire the back up/front camera to your system? Did you attach it directly to the battery?
Installed this accessory on my tractor! IMMEDIATE improvement!

Not sure what I meant by the "first video" comment. I'll have to go back and listen and see what i was talking about 😂
Love the shirt
Thank you
Hank get to making toothpicks
I don't know why you were so reluctant to use the chain saw- it would have been a lot quicker right from the start.
Yeah you have to do what you have to on all of your trees
I would rather keep a tree if it's not a hazard. That tree was a hazard and it needed to go.
Who makes that grapple?
Homestead implements. I'm a huge fan.
@hhamilton1970 I just bought a tym 474 with a 3rd function and a iron craft 72" grapple. Looks very similar
I bulldog small trees and honeysuckle and other invasives with my RK24H
Right on👍
why not cut in first place
🚜👍
Hank you know better where's your stump bucket?
Hi hank
Nice
Thanks
