Gainesville has been part of my railfanning journey since the beginning. I've seen trains there since 2016, but I started really railfanning in early 2017. I've seen my first heritage unit there which was ns 1070, my first amtrak, my first foreign power, my first Canadian national, and tons more. Seen several heritage units as well as ns units now off the roster. I even rode my first Amtrak from there! I practically know the place by heart.

No injuries. Conductor didn't line both ends of the crossover. They shoved up into Cargill spotted a track then pulled ahead. They put six or so cars on the ground.

Great video. I got that same NS 212, the first train of the video. I rode by Gainesvile on Friday (going to Atlanta) and Sunday (heading back to Greenville, SC). Cargill has a cool paint scheme. I've passed these engines on Amtrak a couple of times. I'll be looking to see if they have made any progress on this derailment next time I ride Amtrak.
