@@BederikStorm after the third one I think there will be issues with trying to do it again with snipes; Disney isn't big on taking risks with actors who can be difficult to work with (which was a massive issue in the third blade movie). Whether that is a plot change, fx that were not available back then or a more true to the book version (if its based on other material like comics, books, or show). But again with these "sacred" movies they are such a big part of alot of peoples childhood/ lives. So a remake (alot of times) is like a slap in the face. Not actually being political with this or showing support in any way but a deposition is recording of testimony. False testimony has sent numerous people to jail who were later released after it was proven that they were innocent. Just because something is in a deposition doesn’t make it factual.
You really think it’s likely that the wife of Donald Trump accused him of sexual assault, and was lying? I’d suggest that’s extremely unlikely. Have you heard a single sentence out of his mouth? Just one? He’s been accused by multiple women since, so it’s hardly unbelievable
Borderlands in gonna flop. It aint nothing like the OG. Kevin's not even playing Roland. He's playing himself. When we say we want a videos game movie, more often than not we want the first game with the same characters but in movie format.
IMHO a Borderlands movie ALREADY EXISTS take the choices and mild control options out of it and "Tales from the Borderlands" is an AWESOME movie and I LOVE IT -PLUS it has the GREATEST finger gun fight in all of MEDIA.
Borderlands itself should have been directed by George Miller since the game is heavily inspired by the Mad Max franchise. It should also have been made in the style of A Scanner Darkly movie. Also have the director play the game to cast the characters properly. Like getting Idris Elba who would be a at minimum the closest to being the best choice as Roland. Roland did joke around but he was a soldier 1st and was never that small, plus he was built with muscle like a soldier should be.
With Borderlands, people also question some of the casting decisions. Cate Blanchet looks her age and Kevin Hart really doesn't give "badass soldier" vibes. So while the actors aren't bad, they just feel miscast for Lillith and Roland. The same goes for Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis. Personally I also question the choice of including Tiny Tina and Krieg, both seem to be characters that would be hard to pull off, without them either being unnecessary or plain annoying. I mean Gearbox didn't manage to recapture what people liked about Tina in Borderlands 3.

Any movie title with “Part 1” is not going to do as well as a stand alone title. People will see it in the theater once and then maybe rewatch it on streaming before going to “Part 2.” A stand alone title has the potential for repeat theatrical viewings.
There can absolutely be more Mission: Impossible. BUT they should've started a generational transition, made Cruise a slightly more passive lead while training up a protegé who'd take point in the more ah.. physically taxing situations.
The Borderlands one just doesn't make any sense to me. those are all great actors but most of who they hired just do not fit the characters. Another one of those instances that makes you ask, did they even play the game, pay attention to the character's?
I wouldn't write off these movies just yet. There have been projects in the past that looked ridiculous even on paper, and highly unlikely to be realized as live action, but then ended up to be commercially successful. The One Piece live action series comes to mind. I'm not a fan of the manga, but I knew enough about it to believe that it was absurd that they even attempted it, but apparently, fans and newcomers alike seem to like it very much.
who in the right mind would thought a theatrically released western movie, starring Kevin Costner, in 2024 would make any money? And they instantly shot TWO sequels even before the first one is properly released??
Costner was never told the two main rules of the entertainment industry. Rule 1: never put your own money in the show. Rule 2: NEVER PUT YOUR OWN MONEY IN THE SHOW!!!
I believe that film has unofficially been shelved, after the WB Discovery fandango. At least it was on a lost media wiki video, I cant remember exactly what the end product was.
I am fine with Blade not coming out as planned, if you can't do it right, don't do it at all. I prefer they took however long, than to squeeze out crap.
There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and the simple fact that 'Hellboy" is OVER. Del Toro is the only filmmaker that got the character right, and his films are the only ones that exist in my mind. Other, lesser talents can go ahead and take a crack at it once G.D.T. is either dead and/or retired. That is all.
The film industry had major weaknesses, then COVID happened, and the strikes, franchise fatigue. The 2020s are shaping up to be a rapid decline in the film industry. Looking more and more likely that eventually streaming will replace movie theaters all together.
Borderlands casting Cate Blanchet as Lilith is a BIG misstep. Lilith is in her mid-20s, not mid-50s. For myself, that's a glaring issue regardless of how good Cate looks at her age.
You forgot to mention the reason why the blade movie isn't going through right now and that's because they keep trying to force a female lead to take over for blade
Megalopolis will be to this generation as Velvet Underground's first album was to their generation. Maybe only 30,000 people will see it. But every one of those 30,000 people will go on to make movies.
The people who worked on Borderlands watched Guardians of the Galaxy, saw how successful that was, and said "Yeah, let's just copy that." If I learned that none of the cast or crew actually played any of the video games, I would believe it.

Blade 4 with Wesley Snipes. Makes a shit load of money but they won’t do it
Borderlands seems miscast.
You forgot Captain America 4, which will also cost over 400 million and has taken several years.
Hot Take! Wicked will bomb!
In the Age where a Barbie Movie is made, everything is possible.
Blade: Looking forward to it, however, Wesley Snipes is Blade. Just like no other than Mark Hamill can play Luke Skywalker.
Borderlands: was a completely surprise for me, sounds like a fun Movie.
Hellboy: same as Blade, Ron Pearlman is Hellboy, however another actor might fun to watch.
Horizon?
@@comebackguy8892 what’s about it ?
@@Shamino-do4oy That's what I'm asking.
@@comebackguy8892 didn’t know that, just watched that part. Kevin Costner Movies, nice.
No Snipes, No Blade
They'll probably just "accidentally " leak The Apprentice online.
Im watching this August 1...lets see how does this video ages. My take is borderlands will floop 100% they murdered the characters it feels more like a Borderlands parody.
Anything with Dwayne Johnson. Probably not Moana 2
And Borderlands... did what we expected it to do.
It BOMBED. Badly.
David harbor hell boy just had bad writing. I didn’t mind HIM as hell boy.
Damn Ellie, between this, TrekCulture, and WhoCulture, you must be one of the hardest working people in the WhatCulture group. Salute. (And no wonder you have so many opportunities for bluh-bluh-bluh bloopers, hahaha.)
The money grabbing from the industry is causing movies to be rushed and crapping out movies for kids that should be gory.
Any movie title with “Part 1” is not going to do as well as a stand alone title. People will see it in the theater once and then maybe rewatch it on streaming before going to “Part 2.” A stand alone title has the potential for repeat theatrical viewings.
You should've named the video "Most anticipated FlopBusters!"😂
Despite Megalopolis is likely to flop financially, it doesn't mean it's going to suck.
There can absolutely be more Mission: Impossible. BUT they should've started a generational transition, made Cruise a slightly more passive lead while training up a protegé who'd take point in the more ah.. physically taxing situations.
Would it kill you to add timestamps?
He never would have made a good Blade, guaranteed it would have been along the lines of his character in Alita.
he was the best part in alita and would make a good blade
You forgot the Warner Bros. Luney Tunes movie, where Wyle E. Coyote sues Acme
I don't understand: if you want them to take the time, wouldn't you want them then to *_not_* squeeze out crap?
@@viddork Sorry typo, 'than' instead of then.
@@biocapsule7311 Well, that definitely makes more sense.
How did we go from those fantastic Guillermo del Toro Hellboy movies to this direct to VOD level bad
Megalopalis featured here coming Sep 27 through Lionsgate, no idea what it is about but sounds very self indulgent.
Well crap, if what culture says it's doomed , then why even try ??
So... is Lionsgate just determined to bankrupt itself?
The Crow should definitely be on this list.
Borderlands looks like Guardians of the Galaxy and Mad Max, I’m looking forward to it
Ngl, the Hellboy movie looks good to me. Sometimes its better to have a less is more take on a usually big budget movie.
The trailers for Borderlands look terrible. And the casting is so off point it's insane.
Its casting for borderlands is what’s ruined it.
Mission impossible franchise should just end…
Simon Pegg always pulls me out of the film. But I'm hoping part 2 is just as good as part 1
Isntant Thumbs Up for number 10. They playing in Wesleys face.
The people who worked on Borderlands watched Guardians of the Galaxy, saw how successful that was, and said "Yeah, let's just copy that."
If I learned that none of the cast or crew actually played any of the video games, I would believe it.
I actually liked the first Horizon movie. I will admit that it was a bit of a mess, though.
"There's only been one Blade. There's only ever gonna be one Blade."
Just try hard to ignore that third one..
@@SMDoktorPepper there is no third Blade movie.
@@grizzlybear3809 yes it is. lol
I hate to be "that guy", but it seems folks are quick to forget BET's Blade: House of Chthon... Wesley had no part in that... It wasn't bad... It wasn't good, either... 🫣
@@MalkhiaSidhe never heard of it.
I love you, Elle.
