- He splits open the Palace gardens, creating a pool of lava and traps Aladdin on a sinking rock. Iago, who has once again had a change of heart, returns and grabs the lamp, but is knocked out by Jafar. Though injured, he kicks the lamp into the lava, and Aladdin rescues Iago as Jafar's magic is undone, making Jafar self-destroy and restoring the Palace gardens and the Carpet. Everyone forgives Iago and he is officially accepted into the palace.

In all honesty I thought this was a good sequel and I liked the idea of a former villain turning over to the side of good and helping save the day.
Me too. That's one of the first movies that I see when I was a child...... And I didn't have the context from the first Aladdin, so I feel confused in some moments 😂
It was alright. Not a GREAT movie but for a direct to DVD sequel. It wasn't terrible

This is why iago turned against jafar he had 2 reasons for doing so 1 so he can get into Aladdin and jasmines good graces so he can live in the lap of luxury in the palace and 2 he got sick and tired of taking jafars crap and wanted to get away from him

Iago became good because he finally had enough of Jafar bossing him around he was the brains behind their schemes but never got credit
I hate how badly they nerfed the Genie in this movie.
Genie wasn't nerf in this movie. If anything Genie Jafar was too strong since he wished to be an ALL-POWERFUL GENIE meaning he's stronger and still was attached to his lamp.
This scene was so brutal. The lamp melting as jafar is screaming in pain..
Well they had to destroy Jafar's lamp before somebody else finds it and release him again
in some of the early, original VHS releases of 2:24, the flashing lights and alternating/flickering skeleton + background effects were too much for audience members who had epilepsy. Disney later altered the scene to have it a bit more slowed down and toned down movements.

@hobomike6935 Wow I never knew about that. I thought it was because the scene seemed to gruesome to show. It’s interesting some of the scene was altered but some weren’t no less too. I wonder why when Jafar was blown up that scene was ok but seeing the skeleton flashing lights weren’t ok just because of epilepsy. It kind of reminds me of The Pokémon episode that gave kids seizures because of the flashing lights as well too. I don’t know if it was gruesome because it happened or what but it didn’t seem like it was. I mean I did see both of those scenes from here and Pokémon never affected me or anyone else but I guess it’s the way life can be.

Because, when I do live-action content on my channel it gets less views than whenever I post an animated film, Also, Netflix is very strict with their copyright and I don't want to risk getting a strike on my channel.

rw:this movie was focused on Iago to redeeming himself,and once you think about it this was the 1st episode before DISNEY'S ALADDIN THE ANIMATED SERIES cause when it came to Aladdin and the King of Thieves that is the final chapter .
All we can agree that the worst thing about the movie is the animation. But I love the evolution of Iago, he is one of the good guys

But they did use his voice for the 3rd film of Aladdin instead of the replacement actor used for this movie

Jafar's death looks like a Sauron's death in "Lord of Rings". Life-Artefacts villains are destroyed in magma - Jafar's Lamp and Sauron's Ring. And resultate - this villains are destroyed.
An idea of what Annatar could have been in the second age before he became the flaming eye in the third age.
I didn't realise this fight was from a spinoff, and not the ending of the original Aladin film. I must have been about five last time I watched it, but it always stuck in my mind for some reason. I thought the whole 'clinging to rock towers above a lava pit' thing was totally badass.
This isn't a spinoff, it's a sequel to the first movie. They did a trilogy for the Aladdin cartoon.

@@josephreinerth9152 it's damn not dame. On Top of that your right they make it too easy for Iago to kick Jafar's lamp into the lava plus Jafar really wasn't thinking that much too. He should have just picked the lamp and kept it away from them

I watched the movie yesterday
Animated defeat of genie Jafar in this second cartoon of Alladin it looks like better😮😂, than shameful defeat of Baltazar Bratt (from the cartoon Ugly Me 3).
One thing I wonder about? where were all the guards while ALL this was going on?
Probably still beating themselves up from Genie thwarting the execution attempt. All of them harbored a deep hatred for Aladdin due to him constantly making fools of them with his escapes. Razoul, in particular, thought he'd finally get the chance to put an end to it for good only to be denied at the last second.
Hey Jafar you should have settled yourself with being the most powerful sourcerer in the world.
He tried to strangle and eat Aladdin, so the "street rat" was forced to trick him. Al had one more reason to survive: he needed to save his beloved one from being destroyed in a giant hourglass.
And I would like to face him and say it to him directly:
"Yes, this so-called street rat tricked you. But have YOU not forced him to do this? He needed to stay alive. And he had a REASON to survive!".

It was Jafar that created that lava lake and enabled them to destroy his lamp. Why are villains so stupid that they help the heroes to defeat them?
What I think about the timeline for the Aladdin franchise is the first sequel Aladdin 2 the return of jafar took place before the Aladdin tv series because after jafars death in the return of jafar abis mal became a recurring villain in the Aladdin tv series and the third movie Aladdin and the king of thieves took place after the tv series
