    Specially the invisible trellis is invisible and movable that I need.
    Thank you so much for your wonderful idea!

      So nice of you to let us know. We've used this idea multiple times and it's an effective way to support your plant without being able to detect it much.

    We don't have a porch so I attached some of the fishing line strands to the soffitt with hooks and some right on to the stucco of the front of our house with clear duct tape. I've had to re-apply the duct tape a few times in the last few months but even with Hurricane Dorian passing through yesterday, there were only 2 strands that needed new tape this morning (we live 30 miles south of St. Augustine just west of I-95). Didn't cost me a penny. Great idea, thanks!

    Thank you for the very helpful video. It’s just what I wanted. If you don’t mind, could you explain further how you wedged/secured the wooden block up top?

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 3 lety +1

      The easiest way is to use door shims (avail in the door section of your home supply store). You may need to combine a few depending on the space.

    Are you in a tropical climate? And is the place you have your plant in full sun? I’m trying to decide if I want to put it in the ground or kept somewhere else (& will be part shade). I also live in a zone where winters are below 50...

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 3 lety

      Hello, Donna. We are in Tennessee where the climate is moderate. Our house faces west so the front porch gets the hot afternoon sun. But the plant is in shade until about noon to 1pm. Your winters a very cold indeed! Thank you for watching our video, Donna.

    Looks nice) But how do you tie the branches of your plant to the string? Aren't they cut by it in a windy weather?

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 5 lety +2

      No worries, the plant just naturally climbs up the string. You could use floral wire if your plant doesn't naturally climb and cling to the string. We haven't ever had any issues with the line cutting the plant. Thank you for taking the time to watch our video.

  • @ksu67337
    @ksu67337 Před 3 lety +1

    Thanks for the video! Do you have any pictures of how this turns out? Does each mandevilla follow one line upwards or does it jump around to the other lines as well? Trying to understand if it sort of fills out the whole trellis or if it just goes straight up the first line it finds.

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 3 lety +3

      Have to look for a picture but it will completely fill the trellis.

    Hi there! What is supporting the base of your plant? It looks like 2-3 bamboo poles?

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 3 lety +1

      Kelsey, I think we just put a few thin dowels in the plant soil to help support it. I hope this helps you!

    Could you tell me how thick is your fishing line? I have some arts and crafts fishing line at 1 mm - will that be thick enough?

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 6 lety +1

      So sorry I just saw your question. I think it would be fine as long as it doesn't break if you pull on it. It needs to be strong enough to take the wind. Sorry but I don't know how thick our fishing line is. It's just standard fishing line.

    Which plant is this? I have two pillars on either side of a porch and want to plant something in large pots on both sides. The pillars are south-facing with plenty of sunshine.

    • @FrontPorchIdeas
      @FrontPorchIdeas  Před 7 lety +1

      That plant is a mandevilla. it blooms like crazy for us. We get one every year. Our porch faces west and it does great. Seems to love the heat. One winter we took it into the house and then brought it back out in the spring time. It did alright but was kind of messy in the house so we probably won't do that again. Thank you for watching our video.
