Fishing for Yorkshire Double Figure Barbel

- In this video I try and target double figure BIG barbel from the River Ouse. After catching a 10lbs fish early on, I set my sights on a second one. Following a number of sessions and some nice fish I finally manage another good double barbel.

Some absolute beauties there, i never realy understood the power of barbel to just recently when i caught a small one pounder on the fly while fly fishing for trout, grayling, and chub, amazingly it gave a very different fight to the other 3 species and i had no idea what it was till i netted it.
I often find the small barbel will give a more energetic fight. The big ones do run a bit but mostly just feels heavy and powerful. Hoping to get a fly fishing vid out soon...
Good session on ouse 2 great barbel. The bream were nice aswell great stretch to fish

Really well done. Two doubles from the Ouse is not the easiest thing to manage. The bream are quite something down there, they don't half kick up a fuss.

opposite the tower at Beninbrough! great fish, would like to see your rig and bait, feeding ect.
Quite standard rig wise, just a running rig with a hair rigged quick stop. Nothing fancy but you don't need to over complicate things for barbel, strength is more important along with making sure you don't tether fish if you break off.
Good watercraft picking the inside line for the last fish. Is that a Diawa regal br? I've had one for a while...Cracking reels.
I like to fish close in in floods, and fishing mostly smaller rivers often have no choice! Its a soniks reel, I tend to fish them or shimano.
Nice catch! I managed a barbel from the YDAA side right there on my 2nd ever attempt. Blanked yesterday without a hint. It was on the cards though as new rod curse ;-) D'you prefer Leeds book or just fancy a change?
