I have no doubt Bruno will be vital for us next season. He was still the biggest chance creator in the prem last season but we had massive expectations on him, especially after the Leeds win which Pogba had like 4 assists or something haha. If he reels in the tantrums and channels that energy into focusing on his game I can't see why he can't thrive this season

In my opinion, Kai Havertz can also play as a Trequartista for Chelsea, especially with his history of playing the “False 9” last season and the recent signing of Raheem Sterling. He doen’t seem to fit in the box of an Attacking midfielder or a Striker, more of a hybrid of both. He could play off either side of Sterling and Pulisic and creating chances for either or scoring himself.
The reason why he is so good before Cr7 came in because the central area was belong to him , the ST that deploy before cr7 came in was rashford and martial were comfortable to drift wide and create space for bruno to attack (scoring and creating chance ) . I still think Bruno is still capable to adapt if they are striker liked cr7 who really needs goal to shine , not liked complete forward such as Kane who can still shine even without scoring .
one point though, ten Hag's previous Ajax setups indicate that instead of specializations that you mentioned, he likes versatility in his 3 midfielders. also I think Bruno doesn't fall into those luxury free roaming (sometimes low defensive work-rate ones like Messi or Neymar or Ozil) roles because even though he has had that freedom, he often has shown decent defensive work-rate, though erratic due to lack of exact defensive instruction. I think he can be a far better player if he is given a more structured thing to do when defending. Coming back to ten Hag's midfield, I think the versatility and defensive work-rate he demands, he might develop a midfield more akin to imagining a midfield of Prime form Keane-Scholes-Carrick.

In my mind: false 9 was some dropping off in between the lines (firminho); kaka was a central winger who used top speed direct dribbling from deep in counter attacking sides; false 10 started in the 10 and then mainly looked to used timing to get on the end of goals or looked to shoot from range rather than create if they picked up the ball deeper (eg Gerrard, Lampard, muller, dele); Inverted winger cuts in on to strong foot; free role goes where they want and others evolve their movement around this players idea of the game (eg Neymar & Messi), but their importance in the team needs to allow for this.
Bruno will be a vital player for Tan Hagg 4231. Not even a fully fit Pogba could not bench him in Am. Even if we sign FDJ and Erikson, I think Tan Hagg will start as Am or wide creator in case Erikson starts as AM or with Erickon - De jong , Erikson- Fred or De jong- Fred in Double Pivot. Again he can easily play in attacking 433 as a central midfielder or false nine. He did hollywood passes and did not retain ball well in Ole system because Ole did not have a clear plan and was overlying on his creativity. He was clearly instructed .I think Tan Hagg will want everyone to create specially wingers and full backs . I think bruno will retain ball better and wont do crazy passes this season . This is the area where he will improve most.

I think Bruno is already that player, his stats support that. He scores more goals than his peers playing in the same position, he also provides plenty of assists, but that's not his only trick. Bruno is an amazing trequarista, has shown that from his days at Sporting, and has continued that at Utd.

Unpopular opinion, however IF we are playing a 4-3-3 with Sancho Martial Rashford for example, I don't want Bruno playing behind them. Not unless he is told to strictly work as part of the midfield 3.
For the last 2yrs specifically Fred and Mctominay have been dogs abuse because of how they have performed in the midfield, however when you take into account the frequency in which Bruno relinquishes his position, this means Fred and Mctominay have more space to cover and 9/10 they are outnumbered in midfield. It's happened time and time again.
His own personal G/A has been great but whetr has that got us? I want united to have a solid midfield that can compete with at least 18/20 other premier league sides - get the ball to the front 3 and let them work their magic.
Bruno in a team with actual movement off the ball (which we're FINALLY going to have under Ten Hag) will register 40 assists a season without breaking a sweat. If we can convince Ronaldo to stay, expect this team to score 85 goals this coming season.
You would need worldclass players many positions to do that. I don’t think United has more than 3 or 4. And also if Ronaldo, Bruno and Sancho find their perfect form.

Its weird to see fellow United "fans" almost want certain players to play shit just so they can say I told you so. I will never understand some of the criticism Bruno gets, he's our only world class player atm. Even after a shit season, he was top assister in the CL, and we got KO'd in the last 16. I can get that he can be frustrating at times when he drops behind mcfred or the defence and starts spamming balls over the top, but he only does that because we have no progressive players in midfield. If we get De Jong, I think we'll see him get a lot more goals and assists as he wont shoulder as much of the burden, even if Erikson plays a bit deeper I think we'll see it

Natural Trequartistas - Neymar & Messi late career, Kaka, Maradona, Platini, Baggio, Mancini, Zidane @Juve. Fernandes has nowhere near the technical ability, ball control and composure required for the role. He will be on the bench once Erikson hits his stride in that 10 role.
The issue with making Bruno the main playmaker is his terrible decision-making, even more so in a possession-oriented system like Ten Hag's.
And that Neymar role at Bayern would probably be even more appropriate for Ronaldo. He would drop between the lines to link up play while also providing a strong presence in the box. Basically the way he's been playing for Man.United (as a sort of hybrid between a false 9 and a traditional 9) but with a much better team around him.

He could be, but always loses the ball. He is si frustrating to watch. It's like he thinks he has to get rid of ball inmediately after he receives it. And not only he loses the ball in the opposition side of the pitch, he also loses in out side of the pitch and we have conceded many goals because of him losing the ball in dangerous positions for us

You don’t necessarily need to be rapid to play that role. Also he doesn’t need to beat a press that’s usually the job of the deeper players in the system. He has the goal scoring ability, creativity and can link the play which is what a Trequartista needs to do

Bruno fernandes is not an elite creator like Neymar and the other you mentioned. He ranks in the 97th percentile for passes attempted but the 47th percentile for passes completed. His high assists come from being allowed to spam risky passes all game killing the ball retention of the team and thereby causing the team to work harder to win it back. When ten hag prevents him from making such risky passes all game his assists will plummet. When ten hag prevents him from vacating his position all game his goals will also plummet. Just like in his national team. I believe having Bruno give away the ball so much and our hampered ability to win it back quickly with Ronaldo, greenwood etc up front instead of workhorses like cavani and Dan james is in large part why we had such an abysmal season. Also ten hag's number 1 target this summer is de jong. Another player that roams and who will need the permission abandon his position on the field and we can't have 2 players like that in the team. That's why I believe ten hag also insisted on eriksen. To replace Bruno.
I don't know what you are smoking but Neymar and bruno's goals and assists have been quite similar the past 3 seasons. Not to forget Bruno plays in a struggling man UTD team in the most competitive league while Neymar plays in the best team of the least competitive league.
Neymar in Barcelona, i can agree, was a beast but over the last couple of seasons, he's declined sharply. I think his desire to play football is all but gone.
Eriksen is going to sit on the bench as a backup 10. De Jong doesnt "roam". He moves up the pitch in possession the way any number 8 does but he never had the freedom to move out wide to the flanks the way Bruno does. Funny thing is Bruno is still doing it in the pre-season games so it would appear to be part of the system. Maybe making up an imaginary system you think Ten Hag is playing isnt the best idea....... BTW the national team doesn't play with a 10, they play with 2 8's and a 6. Thats why he struggles.
