- This is a video I made to showcases the highs and lows of the BatPhone.
All the clips were captured from Nick-at-Nite/TVLand reruns of the 60's television show. I do not own the content, I don't claim to own the content, and I'm using this purely for the purpose of comedy/satire.
Today half of Batman's calls would be telemarketers.
Selling Bat- insurance no doubt
And the other half would be spam robots.

Unfortunately, over time, as the Batphone evolved, Batman shifted to a mobile Batphone, which caused many headaches, as Cingular wireless merged, and T-Mobile merged, and Cellular One merged, and soon, poor Batman just could not get cellular service in certain areas, hampering his ability to answer Commissioner Gordon's calls.
Naturally, due to police cutbacks, Commissioner Gordon had problems, too, as no one would service his landline Batphone, leading to it being disconnected in favor of a new multi-line Batphone, but it was so technologically hip, he needed a 22 year old receptionist to teach him how to use it.
Now, we are all Batman

You know, the production values on this show were oddly quite good for the era. I mean, look at how much is going on in the batcave set, the batmobile is quite the production, and there's all kinds of amusingly bizarre costuming.
1:24 I like how they got two gentlement sitting down drinking coffee, no one does that anymore
Even some of the grittier cop shows of the 1960s didn’t have guys sitting and drinking coffee, they had people more in an office breakroom shooting the breeze away just like today.

Continuity error in last clip. Reaches in with right, pops up with phone in left. Though he is batman...

Commissioner Gordon did but Batman blocked it in the episode"Scat! That Darn Catwoman!"
Probably because the Gotham Police are too dumb to solve a case without Batman's help.
They tried once, but Batman had the brains to create a switch to lead to the wrong place. As he mentioned in that episode, "It's been tried before."
They tried it twice, the first time being in the pilot.
