tyler bertrand I understand what you're saying. For me, it depends on the specifics. Did the bail bonds company call up the collateral owner to tell them that the cousin was behind on his payments and that a payment needs to be made? I could envision a scenario where this guy literally has no way of knowing whether or not his cousin is behind and then this blindsides him. While it would be "legal," it would also be "unscrupulous."
The problem with doing that is that you know for a fact there is no way in hell he shows up for the "inspection" if he knows that payments are past due. They aren't stupid, they'd know exactly what's going on. That route would definitely be way better for the co-signer, but has a significantly smaller chance of the bondsman getting his money.
