Gift, training, hardwork and the willingness to play out the best they can everytime they practice and perform.
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." -R.W. Emerson Incredible clarity and musicianship. This had to be an incredibly challenging recording, but also very rewarding...
OMG I'M SEEING THESE GUYS IN CONCERT NEXT MONTH!!!!!!
they're soooo good
Fascinating,thank you for posting.
What a fun project!
Incredible.
the best cd money can buy.
why do they have to be so damn good???
Only Emerson. Beasts..
@jsbad1 You made an excellent point with this post. The new instruments are being made just as well as the old instruments. The sound is just as good as any Stradivarius.
But they don't provide the emotional satisfaction of playing on 300 years of history; particularly history with a name attached. If I had the chance to play Shostakovich's broken kazoo I'd do it.
where is part 2 ?
whos the name of the maker of the newer instrumnts?
Zygmuntowicz
@k73f
Samuel Zygmuntowicz !
sarah chang, janine jansen, anne akiko meyers, sophie mutter?!?!
@IOMERDOSOIO More natural sound, blends into the stereo image nicer.
@pigsrulealot I was being sarcastic
Ummm... have you heard them play? They do not rely on Engineering... they just use it to enhance their performance.
The message to my question that I wanted people, like you, to think about is why there isn't many women in classical music in the first place. Just think about it.
Over head of violins....why OMNI capsule and not cardioid ?
God I hate the descriptions and pomposity that delay hearing this piece
and all pieces whereby the composer would be beside himself to get going!!
shanghai quartet is better
Wow, so you can name...what....a handful of women? Great. That totally evens everything out. Not to mention the past suffering that almost every single woman had to go through back in classical music's origins (Europe between 12th - 19th century). Yea, go ahead and support the supposedly "fact" that things are so much better now. How about you take a women studies class before making claims you cannot support. But hey, believe what you want, I don't care...that's your crazy belief, not mine. =)
why did you not hire any women to perform (or at least somewhat participate) in this project?
What a fun project!
