F310: 636mm (25.04”), F370: 634mm (25”), FG800: 650mm (25.6") I like the shorter scale length on the F370 because it's easy to play when jamming with friends or for open-mic when I'm playing for extended periods of time. Many high-end guitars have short scale lengths so don't see it as a negative thing. I have a longer scale length, high-end Takamine that I use for recording and if I didn't then I might get an FG800 to use in my studio but I'd keep the F370 for everyday use and taking out and about. Also remember that once you plug an acoustic guitar in the tone is entirely different over an amp. I don't like piezo under-saddle pickups so I permanently fitted my F370 with a Fishman Neo D Humbucker which I use with either a DI Box or an Acoustic Preamp/Effects pedal. If you go the Fishman pickup route, get the Humbucker not the Single Coil, particularly if you are gigging as the Single Coil is more prone to picking up interference, whereas the Humbucker does not. F310, F370 or FG800 fitted with a Fishman Neo D Humbucker is a winner of a combination for live performance. When I record, I sometimes hook up the Fishman and a Condenser Mic and blend the two together to the get the best tone.
I have both F310 and F360 TBS from the same production year(2010). Apart from cosmetic differences, other differences that I can notice is the F360 fretboard was made from higher quality rosewood, solid black and very hard. I cant even dent it with my fingernail. The side body texture is smoother than F310 texture.
I've played the F310 and the F370. Both great guitars for the price but if you can then stretch to the F370 then it's worth the extra money. Better tone-woods and tuners and you can tell the difference in tone when you are playing them. Personally, I wouldn't call the F370 a beginners guitar just because the shorter scale length makes it easier to play. I've been playing for decades and I know many experienced players who like the ease of play and the great price of the F370.
