- After concealing her monumental practice during her lifetime and for 20 years after her death, Swedish painter Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) changed the game with her revolutionary abstractions.
Several Circles is comprised of two loved up art professionals (and their cat, Jimmy) living and working in New York. Here, we tell the stories of seminal artists with upcoming or current exhibitions in the City. Written and hosted by Rachel, an art writer and editor. Produced by Jason, an art technician.

I saw the exhibition at the Guggenheim, which was awesome. I was unfamiliar with her work until then. It's a very appropriate venue, given that spiral shapes are prominent in her work, and of course the Guggenheim is in a spiral shape. I recently saw a documentary on Hilma af Klint, which is very good, "Beyond the Invisible"

wow how did I only just discover this channel? great videos, plus Hilma is one of my all time favourites after discovering her through the art assignment a while back. i'm lucky enough to have a copy of that book, one of my prized possessions. I'm constantly blown away by her which is rare for me, and not just by her work but mostly how she had it locked up for future audiences, truly a visionary!

I saw the Gugg exhibition. She's my favorite abstract painter, ever. Why is there room for idpol but no mention of social class? Did she attend seances after she clocked out at Walmart?
Hilma af Klint painted the truth about world and history. She was born in Karlbergs Slott which is the oldest military academy in the world. This is no coincidence...

Hilma was "advised" by Rudolf Steiner whom she admired , to bury her paintings for a while, as the world was not ready for them he believed. HELLO!

wow this is the most passionate video on the channel for sure, however i had a huge batch of fries for dinner and my neighbour smokes cigarillos deep into the night every night and with it being way too warm to close the window ill literally develop bronchitis from sleeping in this thick neighbourly stank when my tummy hurts like mad so sometimes you just wish there was an image to describe your reality, the contemporary reality of inner city youth but i cant even imagine what color the mosquito buzzing into my ear canal would be just like wtf im wayyyy hungover and sleepless to deal with this shit, where is the painting for me? is it like an anime avatar or something
