Theorists, have you heard of Yellowstone? No? Well, you are not alone. Yet it is apparently one of the most popular shows right now. How is that possible? Enter the rollercoaster of a platform that is Twitter. Yes, Twitter. I have a hunch that it may have a hold on your media... and your MIND! Don't believe me? Just ask Avatar 2...

After years of twitter fraud, inflated user populations built of bots to deceive users and investors alike, and the now documented government censorship, these realities of Twiter have only recently come to light.
Keep in mind, CZcams, Reddit, and Facebook were owned by the same conglomerates utilizing the same technology, meaning their current usership numbers are likely just as fraudulent and over-inflated as Twitter was, as the evidence seems to suggest is exactly the case.

I had this video on my "watch later" list for a while and I'm so glad I finally watched it. It confirms all of my suspicions about Twitter and the cesspool of very vocal self proclaimed "film experts" that reside there. I swear I never saw anyone complain so vehemently about movie posters in my life. There was also an insane amount of users that screamed "no one cares about Avatar" on every Avatar related tweet before Avatar 2 released and even beyond. As evidenced by the money the movie is making, a lot of people care, myself included. At this point I'm convinced that 99% of people on Twitter are just trolls and bots. Most of the reactions to movies/games on Twitter are completely opposite to people's reactions in the real world. It's baffling but this video starts to make sense of it.

It should kind of be obvious that Twitter isn't representative of most things. Not only is the userbase small, but the toxicity is so high that most users barely visit it nowadays. I was actually really excited for Snydercut but never rallied for it on Twitter. Conversely, I know many Twitter users who rallied for it but never watched it. With how small the active userbase already is, these kinds of factors play an even bigger role. That's just how it works

I hate it when people say something stupid is actually true just because they saw a TikTok or Tweet about it. I also have a very dark place in my heart for TikTok since a stupid trend was responsible for recking my school's bathrooms again and again. There's a couple factors at play here. First, not as many people have Paramount + as compared to HBO Max or Netflix. That means folks who don't are more likely to borrow from the library. Also, the medium you are talking about skews toward older audiences by default. Lots of younger people don't have/keep DVDs anymore. They are more likely to have either converted to Blue Ray, or just stream their movies/TV shows. Finally, Simpsons, and other long running shows get talked about because everyone can relate to them. Most people with access to western media know what those shows are about, even if they haven't watched in years/decades.

Nah, not saying that isn’t the case but not the main point-more like Twitter is actually quite small and is literally mostly full of Gen Z and younger Millennials, but it doesn’t even represent those two groups well. The interests of Gen X and Boomers are not represented at all and gives this false idea to some of those Twitter users that because it’s not spoken about it on Twitter it must not be popular at all. Yellowstone shows that you can appeal to older audiences and not be popular on Twitter but still be widely successful. Maybe once Elon burns down Twitter, these Twitter users can actually get the sense of what the real world is like.

@@Laura-Yu I think this is more than likely true. It represents a small portion of the population within a certain demographic. You also have to factor that twitter is also incredibly loaded with bots, and I've seen estimates as high as 80%. Dan Woods a well known security expert who's worked for both the CIA and FBI, has stated that it's very likely that upwards of 80% are bots. I've also seen extensive evidence of a particularly weird bot on twitter that will copy politically driven posts and repost them repeatedly.
I don't think that the aforementioned bot is to drive for one particular party, but to drive engagement; as it'll get more real users talking. I genuinely think that these types of bots are what's driving this movie thing talked about in the video. If a movie has politically charged themes (regardless of left/right direction), it will be driven into trending by these same bots. Where exactly these bots are from no one really knows, but I've seen evidence of this first hand; such as identical tweets word for word within seconds of each other being posted by different accounts.

that’s what i was thinking. twitter’s main function with trends is to be representative of the most tweeted about shows, not the most watched shows. Add to that online fandoms tendency to produce a large amount of tweets about one show and it makes sense when shows with larger online fandoms also trend on twitter more.
Also unlike some commenters, I don’t consider this to be twitter lying or as being a negative thing about twitter. it's not about Twitter being influential in any way. It's about the fact that Twitter has, before Elon got it, was used as a way for people in power, mainly the media, politicians, influencers, and people who have a voice get to talk about. And the Main flow of Twitter is very strongly US Democratic, even in other countries it's clear that Twitter was being used as a way to amplify things like racial representation. All Twitter is is an amplifier and only certain people controlled it. That's why you are seeing attacks on Twitter and Elon all by the US Democratic party. They no longer have full control over their most influential social media because it was all artificial, but for how artificial it is, people don't see that, and no matter how independent people are, they can and are swayed by the group. So if Twitter makes it look like the vast majority of people like or talk about something in a certain way, other people will inevitably gravitate to it and be consumed by it. The hardest thing for your average person to do is change their mind on something they care about.

Yes it depicts certain native americans to be "savages" so to speak, but during the story while saying the crude examples on the stage play, they also say how it is wrong outside of it. Also Emu & Nene aren't gonna represent all natives even in the time they are taking from. Twitter just saw the outfits and Cherry pick the lines of the play and boom, cancelation.
I remember seeing one use who said something like "if you have ANY of those racist unit cards of that event, unfollow me and block me, I don't even care if you didn't mean to get them or it was an accident, you are racist."
