I never heard of a power rotary scissor. I spend way too much time with a string trimmer trying to trim my close cut Zoysia turf. It is time consuming to get the cut I need and leaves a white haze in the area I trim because the string trimmer is ripping the turf versus cutting it. You mentioned a power scissor you use but looking through your videos I did not see it. What is the non-Milwaukee power rotary scissor you are using? I bought the Milwaukee trimmer / pole saw / blower combo a few weeks ago, but still interested in the other unit that you use.
I am still deciding if I am going to keep the Milwaukee package I purchased because I have read a number of complaints about the battery case melting when used in the trimmer. I called Milwaukee customer service and the agent said never heard of the issue yet there are a number of complaints about this on the HD site as well as others. Have you had any issue with that or heard of it yourself?

    • @TurfCulture

@@TurfCultureI have a couple of edgers. I would not use the power scissor for edging just strictly for trimming up along the outer edge of my entire yard. The reel will only cut so close to the ending. I have done a bit of research, it seems the Idech is the brand a lot of people use. For those reading this, ASK-V23 is for the Japanese market and the ASK-MW23 is for the global market. The global version will fit larger shaft sizes. The Japanese market version is available on places like eBay for less money than the global version. It seems if the trimmer shaft size is compatible with the Japanese version that may be the one to purchase.

Still on the fence with these. Mine just arrived. I think I have the same fence as you. Its so hard to get close when you cant go under it without hitting it. it cant be good for the paint and if you don't get close it leave blades up against the fence. I picked the attachment up because I didn't want to be beating up my pretty aluminum fence with a string trimmer. They do make a great cut but I'm not happy using it against the fence.

Too expensive, plus I'm thinking about changing platforms... I was a huge fan of my M18 lawn equipment when I upgraded from Ryobi, but now I'm doubting their battery quality. Going on my 3rd season, both M18 batteries I own come off the charger at 3 bars. First season I could trim my whole yard on one battery and have some left over to use the blower. Now I get 3/4 of the way and have to swap to a 2nd battery. Forget about putting them in the blower, they last like 5 minutes. Same issue with my M12 tool batteries, after a couple of years of light use, run time is noticeably diminished. For the price of the batteries; 2 year, maybe 3 year warranty on most of them is just not enough. I just sent my M18 batteries off. Hoping they replace them, if not I'm out on M18, cut my losses now. Bought an EGO blower with 2 batteries for 299, a ton more power than the m18 blower and run time is fantastic. Plus 5 year warranty on the batteries.

@@TurfCultureYou definitely want to buy either an extended warranty with any Ryobi power tool - or watch for a 2 for 1 sale. Worst power hand tool I ever bought was a Ryobi 1/2” hammer drill - give me a Milwaukee, Makita, or even Dewalt / Rigid any day of the week. Now if Festool was to make garden tools ….😮
Actually, we just replaced an over 10yr old 21” Toro lawnmower with an 56V Ego, and I absolutely love it.

Ryobi can’t even make a battery pack that isn’t the size of a clown shoe lol.. or make impacts thst don’t burn up.. much less design something that’s complicated lol
