I just installed a FH-S501bt and I fond during sunny days it is entirely too dim. Sitting right now and it is cloudy and the display is probably half of whay I would want.

On Pioneer DEH-X4600BT the Dimmer can be switched on and off with 2 operations. 1 is to press and hold the Arrow Back Button on the face of the in-dash receiver. or 2 by using the Orange Wire for changing illumination with the vehicle. What model of Pioneer in-dash receiver do you have? The model number is printed on the in-dash receiver usually in an upper or lower corner of the face of the product.
@@omarikari2 I recommend to press your receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer MVH-S622BS just below the USB port on the front of the receiver. You can see it in this How To video from Pioneer: czcams.com/video/WQ8p8b8vZKc/video.html You can have a dimmer ON brightness setting, and you can have a separate dimmer OFF brightness setting. You can see this demonstrated in this How To video from Pioneer.
