I saw a quilt like this on Facebook, and the woman who made it linked to your video. I couldn't imagine how the quilt would together, but you made it look so easy! Thank you for this tutorial.
That was good of her. It did take me a while to work out how to do it in my head but I knew it had to be possible! My next brain teaser is how to work out making a diagonal granny square hoodie. I can't 'see' how I'm going to fit the sleeves🤷♂️ c x
This technique is so amazing! I have never seen this method of joining the groups of V’s! Thank you for a great tutorial! I do want to try it with longer strips!
Glad you like it, took me a while to figure out the method but it really works! I can't see there's any reason why you can't do longer strips as long as the length is a multiple of the width plus seam allowances, c x
Looks wonderful! I've been planning to make a quilt for years. Now I know what I will do. I have a ton of fabric scraps and I will enjoy being able to start cutting strips all the same size. Thank you so much.
Ha ha, it took me a while to figure it out in my head before I committed it to fabric but it worked out better than I could've imagined! Glad you like it, c x
She has made this look so easy. Although I realize it won't be easy for me, I am finally encouraged enough to start my long promised tie quilt for my sister.
Just try it out first on a few rectangular scraps and remember not to sew right to the end of the seam. Once you get your head around it you'll see how simple it really is, c x
Thanks Sarah, I'd never seen a demo for this design before so I had to work it out from scratch so I've shared all the little hints that I found when making it. I'd like to re-film it now we have better equipment but I also quite like the charm of our old 'office table and one man with a handheld camera' set up! c x
You did it so much easier than I thought it would be. I have a lot of leftover strips of fabric and now I know how I am going to use them. Thanks. Loved your show.
I have been looking for something like this for a while. Love the tutorial. You definitely make this look manageable. My heart started to swell when you joined the pieces together and they just blended so easily into one another.
Hi Lily, we're in the UK so all our projects are usually metric. finding a metric quilters rule is not so easy though, the one I've got is like gold dust!
Thank you so much. I am so excited to try this out. I think it is Brilliant how you cut the one edge off at the end and used it to fill in the other. I am excited to try this. Also a great way to use up scraps! I will be watching you for a long time!
Judy Hammack here. I love the look of this pattern. I am going to put it on my list for a future project. Thank you for sharing this and it does look easy; time consuming but easy. And beautiful!❤
OMGosh...I love that your are left handed! I am too...I totally feel your pain living in a right handed world. You gave very clear instructions. Thanks.
The Crafts Channel I know! I noticed that you said you are left handed, but like me, in the video, you were cutting with your right hand. We’re a product of our environment on these issues... 😂
I never liked the herringbone pattern because all the patterns were done in parallel lines. But now I love it! I can't wait to make a true herringbone design! You make it so doable and I'm so glad I found your videos. You made a subscriber out of me! Thank you.
Thanks Timmy, glad you like the way it works. I didn't like the straight lines either but it took a while to figure out how to sew the zigzag edges together easily! c x
Hi Ananya, yes, it's not a quilt that you can make really quickly but once you get the hang of sewing the herringbones together it doesn't take too long. Glad you like it, c x
Brilliant. Both the continuous rather than the "strippy" set and using the cut off points to fill in the other end. Glad you pointed out that those thould be trimmed a bit farther in to accomplish that.
I have watched this video until its nearly threadbare, I just could not get it. I'm new to Quilting. I did think I had it sussed only to find that I had made a mess of the final strip, ( I used a jelly roll and cut equal sizes of strips), quick unpick to the rescue it was red hot but I managed to resew the final strip, I just have to make sure I put it together with the other two. fingers crossed. thanks for this video, it finally sunk in. Ann
Glad it made sense in the end Ann. If it's any consolation it took me forever to work out the easiest way to do it in the first place. All those interlocking seams seemed nigh on impossible! c x
This was a very good tutorial . Thank you for showing how to make this quilt in such an easy way , and economic too as it uses up scraps of which I've got quite a pile ! I will definitely try this one . Great job !
Thank you for this wonderful video!! It has helped me to figure out this pattern which I have loved for years!! Plan on making a wedding quilt for July 7th!! I have tons of scrap pieces lying around my sew room. Thanks again!!
Glad we've helped Amy. It did take me a while to work out the easiest way of doing it because I'm so used to sewing seams to the end of the fabric! c x
God, i tried to do this while back and had no clue how it done until now. Thank you so much for the teaching. You have helped me turn all srcaps to a beautiful quilt.
I love you. I have been looking for a 'how to' video for a pattern that had no name for and in frustration I put in 'zik zag' quilting and up you came talking about' broken herringbone'. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have given it a 👍, I have subscribed and hit the 🔔. Merry Christmas 🎅😊
Ha ha, so frustrating when you can't put a name to something! Glad you found us, have a great Christmas too, I take it you'll be busily making quilts for everyone now? c x
Just made my first Broken Herringbone quilt top. It's a fantastic technique- so little waste and such a cool result. Thanks so much for the easy-to-follow tutorial!
Realistically we ran out of time and that step, although not difficult, can be tricky if you're trying to rush it. It isn't necessary, I just do it because it saves the waste. c x

When I am done with my three other sewing projects I start right up with this one. Thank you for sharing

Looks wonderful! I've been planning to make a quilt for years. Now I know what I will do. I have a ton of fabric scraps and I will enjoy being able to start cutting strips all the same size. Thank you so much.
It is my favourite type of quilt. It looks so good and is actually really easy when you get the hang of the seams, c x
Much easier than i thought...thanks!
Love this tutorial! I made this quilt a while back and it was so easy and turned out great. Back for a refresher so I can make another!
Glad you enjoyed it enough to do it again! c x
You are unbelievably smart. I loved this. Saving in my favorites.
Ha ha, it took me a while to figure it out in my head before I committed it to fabric but it worked out better than I could've imagined! Glad you like it, c x
@@TheCraftsChannel I’m making mine now! It’s great!
@@plzcallmejules1088 glad you're enjoying it. The end result is so beautiful, c x
So helpful! I've been way too terrified to try this because it looks incredibly complicated but you've made it very simple to follow.
Just try it with some scraps of fabric to get your head around it and then you'll find it fairly uncomplicated, c x
"Quickly instead of properly". Love it!

Wow! This is great! Thank you for explaining it so clearly!
I love the trick at the end! Not wasting any fabric, great!
Absolutely beautiful! And a great tutorial...thank you!
I've watched this video more than once and I love it every time. It's the best tutorial I've ever seen on this technique.
Thanks Sarah, I'd never seen a demo for this design before so I had to work it out from scratch so I've shared all the little hints that I found when making it. I'd like to re-film it now we have better equipment but I also quite like the charm of our old 'office table and one man with a handheld camera' set up! c x
You are just awesome!
I love your presentation style and perfect explanation. Simple, understandable and do-able.
Thank you, I was trying to seam the lengths of herringbone together the wrong way!! will try again
You did it so much easier than I thought it would be. I have a lot of leftover strips of fabric and now I know how I am going to use them. Thanks. Loved your show.
Thankyou for sharing, I have been cutting saved fabric all week to make a quilt using your technique !
Haha, the cutting definitely takes longer than the sewing! c x
Thanks for keeping it simple and ad free! Really inspires me to try this myself.
Glad you like it. Definitely give it a go, once you actually do it you can see how easily it 'slots' together, c x
That Herringbon was absolutely beautiful!!!
Thank you for the instructions!
It really looks beautiful
Thank you, c x
Nice to know how to put different strips together! Thank you so much! Great tutorial.
I have been looking for something like this for a while. Love the tutorial. You definitely make this look manageable. My heart started to swell when you joined the pieces together and they just blended so easily into one another.
Yes, it;s a great feeling when everything comes together like it should, c x
Me too Bernadette, me too!!!!! ; P
That last bit especially was really great! Thanks for the tutorial.
Finally! A tutorial with measurements in metrics!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Hi Lily, we're in the UK so all our projects are usually metric. finding a metric quilters rule is not so easy though, the one I've got is like gold dust!

Ha ha, glad you like it. Try it out on fabric you don't like first to see how it fits together. It's really simple once you actually do it! c x
Absolutely love this!! Thanks for sharing this video. I'm certainly going tobe able to use up some scraps now.
I like that, and I will give it a try, I have a lot of strips, scraps etc., this will be a great way to just use up and make something wonderful. ❤
Love it, thanks. Never thought something so complicated looking could be (logically) so easy. I appreciate your video & will try this technique soon.
Yes, it took me a while to figure to logic but it does work really well, c x
Love all the quilting lessons Learning alot of ideas and they are stunning
So easy to follow and I love the idea of using the cut offs to fill in at the bottom :)
I'm such a scrimper I never like to waste anything! c x
It is shown in a very precise manner ...easy to understand and beautiful too...
Thank you Sakina, c x
Judy Hammack here. I love the look of this pattern. I am going to put it on my list for a future project. Thank you for sharing this and it does look easy; time consuming but easy. And beautiful!❤
What a wonderful tutorial! You did an excellent job of simplifying herringbone. Thank you so much.
This is a great tutorial!! Thank you so much!
I’ve made two, thanks to you! Such clear instructions.
Brilliant! Glad the instructions made sense! c x
I really like how you minimized the waste with the various joins.
I hate wasting fabric when it can be so pricey these days. This is a great way to use up all those scraps from bigger projects.
You saved my day! Thank you
This is amazing!!!! I want to use all my scraps to try this. Thank you so much.
It looks great in multicolours. Try the technique with a few short strips of rectangles first to get the hang of it, c x
OMGosh...I love that your are left handed! I am too...I totally feel your pain living in a right handed world. You gave very clear instructions. Thanks.
Ha ha, what's weird is that I can't use scissors in my left hand now, not even proper left handed scissors! c x
The Crafts Channel I know! I noticed that you said you are left handed, but like me, in the video, you were cutting with your right hand. We’re a product of our environment on these issues... 😂
Thank you so much!!!! I saw a picture of this pattern and have been searching high and low for directions.
Glad you found the demo Zelphia. I couldn't find a way to do it either so it took a bit of unpicking before I could do it easily! c x
Love it ..look complicated but easy to do and so little scraps hahahaha. Simply genious.
ingenious on using the cutoff part to put to the button of the quilt. Thanks so much for showing us how to make the Broken Herringbone Pattern.
I never liked the herringbone pattern because all the patterns were done in parallel lines. But now I love it! I can't wait to make a true herringbone design! You make it so doable and I'm so glad I found your videos. You made a subscriber out of me! Thank you.

Excellent!!
I just loved this. Now I know what I am going to do with all my leftover fabric strips. Thanks so much.
WOW! Exactly the kind if colorful quilts I love ❤️
Thank you. An interesting technique.
Wow. That is fabulous. I have used this to make fabric for a knitting bag I am making. Thank you. Just learning about the value of UTube!!!
Amazing.you are such an brilliant , talented person😍
Great! Thank you from Argentina!
Awesome. That's challenge I would like to try.
Start it small with some scrap fabric, and don't forget to leave a bit unstitched at the end of the seam. It is dead easy, honest! c x
Thank you!
Brilliant idea❤️
Thank you for this tutorial. You make it look easy. I will have to try this.
Such a helpful video! Can’t wait to try out this technique!
You'll love it. I keep going back to this design whenever I want to make a quilt as a present, c x
That was great to watch- I can’t wait to get home and try this myself. Thanks for the hot tips!
Thanks Amy, it takes a while to get your head around the junctions but once you've done it a couple of times it's really easy, c x
It looks so tricky until after seeing your instruction . Love your works
Beautiful
This looks easy the way you demonstrated... it's beautiful.
Love it!
love this pattern
There is an old saying: if life give you scraps, make a quilt out of them. I couldn' have done that without you. Thanks a bunch!
le jordan Красота! Молодец! Доступно!!👍💋😍
Very nice work
Looks fabulous. Love your tuition style. Thank you.
Very clear. Thank you! Am new to quilting. So this is a great tutorial for me!

Ingenious, wow! So much off cuts and now a use for them. Thank you!
Tell me about it Tineke, I've got enough offcuts to make about 30 quilts! c x
Same as I, now I got a use for them. Xxxx
That is freaking brilliant! Thank you for sharing this idea.
This was a very good tutorial . Thank you for showing how to make this quilt in such an easy way , and economic too as it uses up scraps of which I've got quite a pile ! I will definitely try this one . Great job !
Excellent tutorial! I’ve always wondered how these were joined. Thank you!
Initially they were joined by trial and error! Took a bit of figuring out but this is the easiest way I know how, c x
Thank you for this wonderful video!! It has helped me to figure out this pattern which I have loved for years!! Plan on making a wedding quilt for July 7th!! I have tons of scrap pieces lying around my sew room. Thanks again!!

You did an amazing job teaching this.
Great idea for all those scraps. This is one quilt idea I have yet to try. Thank you!
Just made my first Broken Herringbone quilt top. It's a fantastic technique- so little waste and such a cool result. Thanks so much for the easy-to-follow tutorial!
Glad you like it, c x
I loved it. Beautiful colours.
The most important part was the last three triangles . you should sew that too. Anyway you made it so simple. Thanks
Realistically we ran out of time and that step, although not difficult, can be tricky if you're trying to rush it. It isn't necessary, I just do it because it saves the waste. c x
