      Hi Brad. Thanks for all your good videos. I have a question for you: I have a Wacom Intuos Pro M. Unfortunately one of my cats jumped up one day I was drawing and made an annoying scratch. Not terrible deep or big. But deep enough that I can feel a slight click and wave on the line when I draw. Is it possible to eliminate those scratches some how. Like with a bit of filler and some sanding with grain 1000 or so?

    • @harshbarj
      @harshbarj Před rokem

      @@Choedron As it's not a display you COULD, but no matter what it's going to change the feel in that area. So you can just deal with a small scratch or sand it down and have a larger area that just feels different. I guess you could also try to fill the scratch somehow. You could even try finding a screen protector of the same size and placing it on the tablet. It will again change the feel, but at least it would be constant across the full tablet. In my experience consistency is the most important thing if you want smooth lines.

      I guess it’s a matter of taste, for me that’s exactly why I prefer (by far) the Apple pencil, it just feels more natural, in reality you have to apply more pressure on a pen or pencil in order to create a stroke, I had been a wacom user (and fanboy) for about 15 years but when I used the iPad with an Apple pencil it was uncanny, it does feel so real, in my very humble opinion and experience there’s not even a point of comparison, hands down the iPad and Apple Pencil win, and also in price since the best wacom experience is far more expensive than any iPad while the old pencil on a basic iPad has exactly the same functionality as the 2nd gen on a Pro.

    This was an informative video, thank you. I still have a question. I use the iPad with a pencil and it works great. But one downside is the glass screen feels slippery, and my handwriting isn't as neat as it would be for real paper. I understand this is likely do as much to the iPad as to the pencil itself. I do wonder if the Wacom is better in this regard, or if some other handwriting device setup might be?

    • @velvi8359
      @velvi8359 Před rokem +1

      Most newer models of screened drawing tablets come with some sort of textured cover or protector pre-installed. Wacom goes farther and actually has etched glass on their newer models, the glass itself is textured so you don't get that slippery feel and dont need a cover. Although, I don't think it's worth spending wacom money to get a slightly better handwriting experience, they are freaking expensive.

    Was going back and forth between Ipad and Galaxy Tab S6...In the end decided to go for Tab S6 because there was no hover cursor. I thought it would probably bother me in the long run because the apple pencil tips still had somewhat of a thick diameter.
    Jokes on me though, My wrist starts hurting the moment I use either my cintiq or my tab s6. So I cant really use them at all XD. For some weird reason , it doesn't hurt when I am drawing in traditional medium. I am sure there is a ergonomic issue even though I keep my elbow at my desk and use an gloves to draw. Oh well....

    I'm already acccusomted to apple products and it's ecosystem, but as a animation student have started add more variety of tech dislike having to sift through reviews and comparisons that are just restating specs and benchmarks.

      medium or 10 inch, pick large if you are using bigger monitor at size somewhere around 27-32 inches. medium (10 inch) will go well for most screen size.

    I love this.
    I have a Intuos Pro M and it's great but still kinda lets me down given that it's the price of some android tablets or other screen drawing tablets.
    I wonder if the Wacom pen not being able to find the button was a joke from your own experience or not. But using a desktop windows PC as a tablet with the intuos pro m is quite annoying sometimes. Like using the pen to click an on-screen button and nothing happens (or even more annoyingly, move the focus to the button but never, ever click it). So, I thought that was a good joke, if a bit too real. A professional multi-touch tablet should be able to handle PC tasks just fine but 99% of the time I try to do something I quickly get annoyed, drop my pen, and move over to the KB and mouse because it's just easier. Having to repeat an action on my tablet because it can't detect what I'm trying to do is a horrible UX. Even if 99/100 touches are registered, taking 30 seconds to figure out how the pen can do a quick select-all -> cut & paste on a URL and still having it fail multiple times is an absolute productivity killer and a major distraction to my workflow. For that reason I think I'm going to finally join the dark side and get an ipad pro.
    I guess it's only a matter of time before I start spending $1000 monitor stands and upgrading my phone annually even though I still owe money on it. However, more than anything, I will finally be able to make fun of anyone who sends me a text message that shows up green.

    What about the Surface Pen? It has an eraser butt too. I have an iPad Mini 6 with the Apple Pencil 2 and a Surface Duo 2 with the Microsoft Slim Pen 2. Of the two, I far prefer drawing on the surface duo than ipad mini, and it comes down to the pen experience. the slim pen 2 feels better than the pencil 2, in my opinion.

    Brad, is there a 2 in 1 laptop/tablet that has the wacom pencil? I want a 2 in 1 but want a windows based 2 in1. I laugh at myself because I've been debating on this for months, watched all the videos, even have a notebook with best specs (which gets me more confused) I'd like a 32gb ram, 1T memory would be great and best gz, best screen? for drawing in software programs.. just best, but at best price also. LOL I've totally confused myself for months over this SOS! :)
