It's official! Players can now use both fabric mods and forge mods together! Simply install the Sinytra Connector mod and the Forgified Fabric API mod and you will be able to use fabric mods and forge mods together!

Sinytra Connector is a translation/compatibility layer that allows running Fabric mods on MinecraftForge. Its goal is to bring the two platforms closer together, saving developers time and effort maintaining their mods for multiple platforms at once, as well as allowing players to play all their favourite mods in one modpack.

The Forgified Fabric API (FFAPI) is a direct port of Fabric API to Minecraft Forge, regularly kept up to date with the upstream repository. It is designed to make cross platform mod development easier by allowing developers to use Fabric API as a common library to interact with the game's code on both platforms. However, it is not an abstraction layer, and loader-specific code still needs to be handled separately for each platform.

Hey friends! Just as a heads up Sinytra and Forgified Fabric API are both in beta and could have some issues. If you have any troubles with versions make sure you are running minecraft 1.20.1, forge 37.1.3. Also for this video I used "Connector 1.0.0-beta.5+1.20.1" for Sinytra Connector & "Forgified Fabric API 0.87.0+1.9.2+1.20.1" for Forgified Fabric API.

Uh, when I start minecraft, the game says I need to instal Fabric API for my mods to work, but I already have Sinytra and Forgified?? Update: i didn't have forgified, but now minecraft keeps saying it's outdated. Update: had to download Forgified Fabric the Modpack, went to the API's dependents on old forge and found it :/ Update of the update: It's not compatible with Apugi and Touhou Little Maid gave me a exit code of -1073741819 which is supposed to be a graphic driver issue, this is just insanity...

Ah dangit this is stuck in a version I can't upgrade to until Vault Hunters is moved up which, being a modpack based around its very own mod, who knows when that CAN or WILL happen lol. I was hoping to finally just add Axiom to my list of world building tools. But I can keep waiting, at least this will BE there when I get to update lol. A much needed connection. All the great mods are in older versions though. Hoping the developer of this mod has plans for that too.
Now all we need is a fabricified forge conversion!
why ? just use a forge base and add fabric onto it, you don't need the reverse...

@@alexdavies8079 Not all Fabric mods work with Sinytra Connector, so some modlists may be better suited on Fabric with a select few Forge mods.

I'm thinking about going back to forge as soon as this mod updates to 1.20.2. While I don't care for the forge dev team's attitude towards people asking them pretty reasonable questions and just getting told off, I miss the mods I once played with on Forge. A few such mods are Simple Quarry, Ex Nihilo and Mystcraft.

with neoforge happening this might cause people to leave forge for good with less headaches, as long as the neoforge team is mature...

@@snazzyjovialwyrm3314 Fabric is much the same where the lead developer is a bigoted asshat. Neoforge and Quilt are ideal nowadays (hopefully Neoforge moreso since they're the newest)
@@xdn_t Not sure what you mean by that as I couldn't even get 300+ mods to work with forge on my computer without it crashing never mind that I'm unable to even get that many to work with fabric. I can atleast get 200 mods to work with fabric but I can't even get 200 to work with forge. Fabric as far as I can tell has more optimization mods that will make it faster and allow more mods to work together while giving me nearly 60 fps a second game play. Forge only gave me about 30fps especially since Optifine was the bane of all modders existence. I gave up on optifine for better mods and modloader. ☠
Also the forge team was never good at PR or HR or at least the original dev team for forge wasn't. ☠ (See I can do these useless emojis as well as you can) ☠
Having said all that I do miss the mods I used to play around with in 1.12.2, but those days are gone for me. I look forward to when Forgified fabric actually updates to 1.20.4 and above😜

Please suggest how to install replay mod with forge mods as replay mod could not be install with the setting you've mentioned
When I try to use both mods at once it crashes minecraft. It's only when I use the API, but when I remove it from my files minecraft will boot, it just doesn't have the fabric mod I installed.

I hope they go back to older versions, there's a lot of wonderful mods that won't be updated to 1.20
this never usually happens unfortunately as its a lot of work for them to do. most mods that arent updated will probably get some sort of spin off version for 1.20+ in the next year. Anything that doesnt is either too complicated or cant get permission from the original dev.
@@KirbyRL I mean EZ Storage 2 was a great mod in it's simplicity. Unfortunately the owner of the mod is no longer communicating with the dev who worked on it and that dev abandoned the mod sometime ago. Someone wanted to revitalize it and the owner said he'd get back to him but never did. I believe there is EZ Storage port for 1.18.2 but I feel that also got abandoned since it hasn't been updated since 1.19. I loved the old mods they were less complicated to use for me at least.

tbh that would be useless since you could play forge with the fabric mods you need aka play mods from both loader and the second question i think they are doing all mods or something but they are still coding it
@@joyboy2016 How is it useless? Fabric+Sodium is the best performance combo to ever exist on Minecraft. The problem is most of the classic and better developed mods are Forge only, Aether as an example. In fact, running Fabric only mods on Forge is what you can actually call useless since most of the time a better version of the Fabric mod you want was already developed for Forge way before Fabric even exist.
Can i somehow make forge mods work in fabric ? Since my whole modpack is already built on fabric and i just want to use few forge mods on it.. i just dont wanna redo the pack on forge and then add fabric mods ...

Hi guys, i just watched this video. I am off Minecraft for quite some time, had a hard enough time to remember how to run server etc. again. Has been a while. I also wanted to try a Fabric Server. I assume, with these mods / plugins mentioned in the video, to run also Forget mods with Fabric server, i wonder how to make it work with the other plugins. I mean, i copied all my mods (including the ones need , as said in the video) and started the server. But I dont see any mods being loaded. I never ran Fabric before, and my last MC experience was long ago. I would apprecciate some infos, if I did something wrong here. Thanks. :)

Any mods that work on forge don't work on fabric unless they are cross compatible, but you have to download the fabric version of them. I hope I'm not wrong...but that is how I had to deal with it.
Fabric for optimization mods
Forge for other mods (DivineRPG, Twilight Forest and etc.)

IT would be interesting the opposite, using forge mods on a fabric loader.. I stopped forge for the overload time for les than 100 mod, took 5mins compare with the same mods list on fabric with +130 took me 55sec. Unfortunately, no api exist to run forge mod on fabric.

Still wroks I tried the mod which can make us crawl wich is only on Fabric ! Much love because I was fed up of optifine and its crashes ! Sodium here I come !

So you will want to use the forge client. You simply just drag both of the mods into the mods folder. And nope you don’t need the regular fabric api

I think there's some limits to functionality here. When a mod has dependencies that have both forge and fabric versions, I'm not sure what to use
You should use the forge version if you use Forge. It's simpler that way as you only need Forge or Fabric not both. The reason for forgified fabric is so that mods exclusive to fabric are able to be played on forge or neo forge.

make sure the mod is for the same minecraft version and platform u use and make sure it doesnt require any other mods to work
connector only works on the said forge and game version said in it's description
graphics drivers update fixed this forcme personally
I had that happen to me when I used forge the only way I could fix it was switching the mods I was using to fabric. Maybe a mod is conflicting or a loader is just not working
This only works if you main on forge and want to add fabric.
Those of us on fabric are being forgotten and left out, cause it isn't cross compatible, its only a one way patch.
There are mods which do the exact opposite but they are by different developers and the mods have different names.

But you used Forge as the base there in this example. Will it work if I use Fabric as the modloader? Cause the whole thing is that Fabric+Sodium simply runs Minecraft a million times better than Forge+Optifine ever did but you can't use Twilight Forest, Aether mod, and some of the most classic and well developed mods. Will it work if I use the Fabric+Sodium combo as the modloader?

my minecraft client just crashes when i tried to launch, im trying to add litematica and i also have the dependency for it. The modpack was running just fine before this so it seems this is the issue, does it not work anymore.

I don't think Optifabric works anymore. Take it with a grain of salt though, I spent a week trying to install them both.

I have 172 mods on 1.16.5. I venture in the depths of internet to find the mods with versions and modloaders that have 1.16.5 Forge. If I was using Fabric or any different version, even if 1.16.4, I would have easily missed half of my total mods. I chose 1.16.5 over how common it is. There are devoted mods which make masterpieces, release it into 1.16.5 and then disappear.
1.12.2 has mods like Far Planes 2 and some revolutionary mods sacrificed to it.
1.12.2, 1.16.5 and 1.18.2 are versions that easily hit millions on downloads.
I swear Minecraft is a game that NEVER benefits from diversity in community. Like why does it do so many updates fixing almost nothing and bringing nothing good to game mechanics and adding nonsense stuff while remaining complicated for developers? I wish they officially completely stopped updating at like 1.12.2 so at least all mod developers could make their mods on the same version and same modloader, we'd have fewer stuff to miss out.
Some game developments just take thousands of steps, none in the direction that would be for good. And modders step in the direction one by one. Some games are just better off being stopped and left to mods. Minecraft is one of them.

running minecraft 1.20.1
I downloaded both fabric api and the sinytra connector mod.
downloaded both a forge mod and a fabric mod(i had to manually drag a fabric mod because the forge loader wont let you download a fabric mod)
Please don't skip ahead in these tutorials and expect everything to work out because that leaves us who follow you step by step clueless when it doesn't work!
You only need Forgified Fabric not fabric api as fabric api isn't needed as it is included in the mod. I hope this helps somewhat.

just change the forge version and do everything else the same, not that hard
