    I feel very blessed because I had a PD catheter put in on July 3, had it flushed twice over two weeks, then got cleared to shower in the third week and got called in for transplant and had the procedure. I had a similar experience with meds the first couple days after discharge. I've been home for almost a full week now and today was my best day yet. I'm keeping cautiously optimistic and also continuing a much healthier diet while I heal. I'm not rushing the process but I hope to get out and walk more this weekend if I'm feeling strong enough.

    I just got a kidney two weeks ago and hold the same opinion that the PD catheter procedure was much harder to recover from. Good luck to you!

    Congrats on the kidney, coming up on a year how do you feel? I did peritoneal dialysis also. In the hospital I was drinking alot plus IV fluid, I went from 140 to 192lbs. My blood pressure was really high and nothing would bring it down. Anyways I did it for a year then was transplanted, got 1 from my brother. Should of took so long for transplant but some shit got in the way. I'm coming up on 19 years now. Hope all is well.

    After I had the PD catheter insertion (which i was also told was a day procedure and nothing major) I was bloated and very uncomfortable for a few weeks after. I don't think I had tremendous pain but the surgery was definitely not nothing. I also nearly fainted when I left the hospital. I wish staff were a bit more honest about this surgery.

    I had a kidney pancreas transplant due to T1D as well in May. I was great for the first couple of months, despite one episode with low grade fever and leg pain from very low phosphorus. Around late September, early October, I started feeling like something dark came with it. I felt something inside of me trying to smile at things I normally would not smile at but it wasn't even my face smiling. Almost like it was inside smiling. I also have lost an extreme amount of weight and my eyes are sunken in, and I rock back and forth and pick at my head a lot now. I look sick. I also have severe anxiety and that started as soon as I got back home. I also have constant headaches and I took a liking to cheeseburger pizza but am barely eating now when before I was sort of regaining my appetite back. I really didn't like pizza before. I ate more on dialysis. I even stopped taking the medications for immunosuppresion to see if it was what was causing it for about a week or two and it wasn't the medicine. And my function is still fine when it has been checked. I have learned here recently that a parasite causes type 1 diabetes and heavy metals from vaccines and that the pharmaceutical industry knows this but the money made from the drugs they sell is what they are actually wanting. A simple parasite cocktail can cure it and the kidneys and along with prayer, it can be healed for sure. I kick myself that I didn't find this information earlier but I did pray alot and sometimes things are answered in different ways. The body heals itself. I want these organs out of my body now. I don't care if I need to go back to dialysis. This is horrible. Especially when you feel something dark always with you. I don't know how my donor passed but we waiting for 3 days at the hospital waiting to hear word if it was a go or not. The hospital is 6 hours from my home. I had to stay there for a long time before I was able to come back home. Now I want these organs out. It may be your best option and this is just my experience. I would just really think about things before I make a decision that can change your life in many ways. God Bless You and I Thank God for your Healing. 🙏

    I 100% agree about the PD catheter pain. During the PD surgery, the surgeon did something wrong causing the most pain I have ever experienced in my life. For days I could barely breathe. I also formed a giant hematoma over the surgery site. My transplant pain, compared to the PD pain, was nothing! Really my transplant was a piece of cake compared to the PD surgery.

    im sorry dude, you would have benefited greatly if you had been told that type 1 is extremely manageable with Dietary intervention.
    This is the most important thing which conventional medicine will never tell you.
    On the positive side, its good to see they didnt keep you on prednisone.

    • @tireachan6178
      @tireachan6178 Před rokem

      You are completely incorrect. Type 2 can be managed via diet. Type 1 means your body doesn't produce any insulin at all, without insulin your cells cannot absorb glucose leading to inevitable death.
