Of course I know the genshin community is a place full of toxic people, but at least not everyone is like that, because if there are bad people, there must also be good people.
I remember this map existing since time immemorial and dear god it was hilarious going through the collectibles in Dragonspine. You got people posting, people correcting the people posting, people getting frustrated and confused if its even the correct marker, and people realizing that both of them are on top of each other but at different elevation levels.
I used the interactive map quite often. Last time I used it, I was still doing my Melusine world quest playthrough, & I got jumpscared by a meme picture of pregnant Neuvillette😭😭👏

I've been using this map since 1.1 so it's nice to see people finally recognizing how great it is :). My favourite easter egg is when you have to kill enemies to open a chest and the comments are "open the hilichurls, kill the chest" or something to that effect. It's so stupid but makes me laugh so much.
I use the community map a lot actually. The stretchy arm guy has been doing it since Sumeru. A bunch of the Dendroculus also have the honor of being pointed at by that guy from the Dain quest. It's not perfect, but it loads faster than the official map and the community guides help a little bit for some of the more obscure collectables.
If I remember correctly, this map came out before Hoyo decided to create one. Another thing to keep in mind is that you, yourself, can move the markers and add new markers on that community map. It was a way for the entire Genshin community to share their finds that even some things Hoyo didn't add to theirs.
I honestly didn't mind the Aranyaka quest other than the fact that it was probably 25-50% longer than it probably should have been. I really chalked it up to just part of the world exploration experience, and I feel you haven't really explored the rainforest until you've done it. (Of course I feel bad for those that didn't grind through it in 3.0 or joined afterwards because it is a HEFTY amount to catch up on)
At 5:45 : Interesting, I actually had the exact opposite reaction. Because (in case you did not know this) if you try to go out of bounds when those areas are locked, you will notice that the chests/timetrials/enemies haven't spawned yet, and only became avaialbe once you went there as part of the quest. Why is this important? Because it basically gives an opportunity to one of my big wishes regarding Fontaine: where I want to see Celestia drop a divine nail during an Archon Quest. Before the Aranara quest, this was ridiculousm since it was conflicting with the open world nature of genshin. The aranara quest actually made this possible.... Just seal off a part of the map, let loose of the "nuke" during the climax of the quest and then explore this newly created "chasm". The possibility is there, the limitations removed. Now its up to the writing team...
Imagine hydroculus hunting and you use the community map And have to see like 400+ of this abyss order founder pointing with a elongated arm showing you the locations of things
I remember using the map for Inazuma and got to the island where you find a samurai surrounded by unmoving hilichurls and the top comment was "Uh... I don't think those guys are sleeping" 😂 followed by "Avenge the hilichurls" Fantastic map man, I should get back to using it
I'm so glad that the community of Genshin was able to come up with something so humorous and funny yet heartwarming and mesmerizing at the same time. This was undoubtedly the most wholesome video I've ever watched today that is Genshin-related
I also often use the community's interactive map. we always post memes related to locations or items on the map. Using the community's interactive map is much more fun and this is the reason I love this community 🤣

To this day, i prefer the community one (since people can post links to video tutorials to quests an whatnot).
I've actually been using this interactive map since I started playing (mostly because, for the first 6 months of playing, I didn't realize Hoyo made an official one, and I was not about to go through and remark everything as found all over again lmao) but yeah, there's so many hysterical memes and comments on literally everything, it's fantastic. The dumbest thing I've thought of is the Sumeru quest. So basically the tree of vanaruna where you sacrifice your dendro sigils. I thought the tree was in the inaccessible area 😭 SO I LITERALLY HAD TO FINISH THE ENTIRE QUESTLINE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT YOU UNLOCK IT WAY EARLIER AND I JUST DIDN'T KNOW
For a moment I thought that map was the official one and I was like oh hoyo people like clothar but then I found out it’s not and yet I still use it bc I love all the memes and laughs I get while grinding for stuff
One thing that I did on Hoyolab was a We Don't Talk About Bruno parody with slimes. The creator of the post it was originally under decided to draw that out and I was really surprised to see that what I said got into it.
if you look at the original video K actually commented on it and he/she was thankful and will make more of this stuff for us such a chad they also say that there's another one that got first to do it other than K
The map is great been using it since inazuma, and its been both a live saver for finding specific collectibles and chests, and its also always pretty funny to see what the community comes up with in the comments. Its funny, but legit also a very useful tool.
5:55 tbh I dont mind those kind of world quests BUT I wish they would voice them too. Same like current 4.0 Mega Meka event. I dont understand why they dont voice anything except Archon, Character Story Quest, Hangouts and Flagship Events. Imagine what kind of insane experience the Aranara Quests, Ruu Quest from Inazuma or Kitsune Saigus would have been with voices. At least the important parts not the chit-chat all around.
Along with great memes it comes with tips on how to complete achievements and unmarked stuff that has yet to be added. 😂 best map imo. Official genshin map is way to slow on that note, approving the right things that often comes w/o description (for newer marks) whereas the community one shows comments 1h after posting and there's the option to hide the stuff you've already marked.
By not wanting them to lock an area of the map behind a quest,do you mean a part of the 2D map (as in an inaccessible Statue)? Or do you mean any location? Things like the Eternal Oasis and a bunch of the Khaenri'ah areas in the last subarea of Sumeru were all quest locked and honestly I think they should have been. (The Eternal Oasis also had Dendroculi)
One of my favorite things on that map is when the top comment is "don't listen to the top comment, they're wrong about the location." with no explanation whatsoever on what the real location is
I'm always using community map cuz the official one sucks. It just shows you the location of what you're looking for and not how to get to it. While community one shows you where, how, and it gives you a disclaimer if you're going to suffer while getting it. Also you can hide found markers so it doesn't kill your device. I was collecting Dendroculi in the new area of the desert and Clothar was everywhere. Even before Fontaine was announced. And it's so funny

I don't use interactive maps and 100% everything except for fontaine. You get the chest finder gadget and the oculi gadget for each region with reputation. I think it's quicker to just search around with that especially since you can't know which chests you have already gotten. At the end if i'm not at 100% i may look up something like "genshin secret [region] chests" on youtube.
as someone who has 100% sumeru, i also don't go explore with the interactive map. it's easy and fun but I'd rather explore stuff myself. that way, when i don't have any quests to do, i just run around and find out 😅 and if i were looking for the oculus that i don't have, i just simply use the gadget or look up videos. videos helps me better than pictures. makes me focus and managing my route efficiently 😊
I mostly do my own thing and find the occuli on my way to places, but I do use the community map to find resources and the remaining occuli, 100/10 best hints and help
personally i hate using the maps, if i really really need to find some specific chest i look up a video but otherwise i just walk around 🤷🏻♀️ it's honestly not that hard to get 100% imo
what blows my mind are the people that DONT know about this map, this came out before anything genshin made. Genshin even tried shutting them down at one point, gave in during a time where everyone hated them and instead made their own worse version of it. And they even link their OWN GAME to the community one and not their own. At least for me if I click the community hub to get the daily login it points to the community map.
This was freaking hilarious! I don't even play Genshin anymore but this made me tear up from laughter! So everyone who loves drama and dark and serious story goes to Honkai Impact 3rd. Everyone who has no time to play but needs their anime fix goes to Honkai Star Rail. And everyone thats left over, from the casual to the deranged goes to Genshin it seems from this video. I can live with that.
I still remembered a Geoculus in the community map that needs an Anemo character to turn on the clover and reach it in which I think it says "Roses are red, violets are blue. If you wanna make me switch my Geo Traveler to Anemo again, F U"

I still remembered a Geoculus in the community map that needs an Anemo character to turn on the clover and reach it in which I think it says "Roses are red, violets are blue. If you wanna make me switch my Geo Traveler to Anemo again, F U"
