Very well behaved Westie. My Westie was his worst at the groomer. He was always the boss but loaded with personality. Best dog ever R.I.P Scruff. 12/22/06 - 12/10/22

My westie looked like a carbon copy of this one...but was never on a leash...but very well behaved one...born in 2013 passed away in 2019...time flew....wish my westie lasted as long as yours on 🌎 :(

I have 2 Westie girls. I just love them so so much. I've been fortunate to find patient groomers. This one is so well behaved and sweet. I think the behavior of the dog depends a lot on having a patient groomer.

Westies are the besties Mine didnt like to be groomed till I found a groomer with patience and time to make sure my dog was at ease. Miss my baby , full of personality and life Groomer did a good job and yes treats maybe bribes lol
I also thought she was a little rough but she wasn’t and she is a great groomer and she even gave him hugs and kisses 😘 special touch or yes and you are fast

The groomer did an awesome job...I rescued a Westie 13 yrs ago n has been my boy since I've to learn to groom his coat by watching videos like these n learn from individual groomers techniques its not easy but my boy knows I mean the best for him to look n yes Pet Grooming salons are very expensive when it comes to the Westie haircut but Ive learned n saved alot of money so thank you youtube for sharing these learning episodes...🐶❤🐶❤

Westies are very well behaved and patient. I used to have one that had a lot of ear infections and we had to cure him and he never complained even when I know he felt uncomfortable. I think this westie has skin problems, specially in their paws and he's sooooo lovely.

No dog really likes their nails trimmed. I think it’s because they don’t know why it’s happening. Also, this dog’s nails were in such bad shape that it looked like some of them were growing upward. It may have been slightly painful.
My wife and I have had three Westies. Loved them all. The ones we had were pretty stoic at the groomers. Loved watching them tilt their heads when you said something they didn’t understand. Very cute and lovable dogs. Would get another except we’re in our 70’s.

Seems the groomer is rough and to much in a hurry. Dogs feet are sensitive
So well behaved and tolerant to all the personal space , quick moves of grooming. Groomer knows what she is doing.
This is exactly how not to groom westies. As westie lover, owner breeder and groomer I can not watch, how so called groomers destroying coat and also typical appearance of these lovely dogs... unfortunately Internet is flooded by these unprofessional videos!

If I were to have a 'small' dog this would be my choice. If I went for a larger dog, it would be a border collie. However my cat would have something serious to say about me having a dog at all!

She is not trying to calm him at all. She needed to be more gentle, and talk sweet to him for reassurance.
Just a suggestion, I don't think you need the music or at least turn it down.

I had a Westie yrs ago and taught her how to walk down stairs. I moved to Nashville for 6 yrs with her. Then I moved to Alabama but I had to give her away because I moved into an apartment. My son's friend took her and cared for her. She (Skyye) passed in 2017 or 18. Oh how I miss her so much. I remember the days of caring for her like this. I hope and pray I'd find a male Westie someday soon! Miss you Skyye dog!! They are so hard to find at a reasonable price. Js

Some people are jerks, so ignore “Groove’s” comment. A lot of apartments don’t allow dogs, so you had no choice. I’m so sorry for your loss. My daughter and I had to put-down our Westie, Sophie, on Sept. 14. She was a sweetheart with a “diva” personality. On a Monday night, she became immobile, and my daughter took her to the emergency vet. An ultrasound found that her gallbladder was inflamed. She was started on a special diet, but whimpered Tuesday night. Wednesday, the vet did an MRI and found a spinal tumor. That afternoon, we had to have her euthanized. Our hearts are still broken. She was 12. Westies are special puppy-dogs that know how to work their way into your heart. We live in Alabama, also.
@@denisek292 I'm so sorry for your lost. I put down my shih tzu on February, she was 12 too. We don't know for sure what happened to her but she slowly stopped eating and moving. At one point it was clear she was going to pass away in matter of days or hours so we put her down, she was suffering a lot. I'm glad she had a peaceful passing with us at her side (idk if she knew that, she was blind/somewhat dead) but I regret not doing more for her but we couldn't knew better...
Now I have a five months old Westie and I wonder if my old dog would like her 💔

Shaved like in this clip up to two years. Sometimes it never grows back fully.
Our Westie’s fur grows back SO fast!! Every 7 weeks she’s at the groomer…reluctantly on her part😄

Groomer is very aggressive & rough. Nothing calming about this whole process. She’s lucky he’s such a nice Westie. The groomer actually seems bothered by this little guy & he was sooo sweet. BAD groomer!!! ANGEL dog!!!

The consensus is you should have plucked the hair instead of shaving. I didn’t know Westies have a sensitive skin and by shaving one you reduce the effectiveness of the outer coat. Although in a hot country I would have thought that it would be necessary for the comfort of the dog. I don’t know much about Westies except that they are a Scottish breed and need to be protected from the harsh winter.

The groomer was fast and furious with those long sharp scissors especially around the little Westie’s face. I was concerned that she might jab her in the eye. The overall trim was well done considering the deplorable condition the poor dog was in. However, one big mistake was taking off all the hair on her tail making it look rather like a rat’s tail. Westies should have a carrot shaped tail.
Someone told me not to use a trimmer on them.
You are getting a lot of negative comments because people think you are too rough with the dog. I have tried to explain that it only looks that way because of the speed of the video. Maybe you should address that issue when you speed your videos up. Just sayin’.

The groomer needs more lessons in westie grooming. I'm presuming this is an American groom.?The back is clipped way too short and not blended properly into the furnishings. The tail should be trimmed with thinning scissors and have the shape of a juicy carrot. The legs should look like sturdy columns. These back legs are trimmed too thin. The face should be trimmed into a round from all angles.

Because the standard Westie look/clip has long belly and leg hair.

I have my third Westie & I can’t stand people who don’t have one of the cutest dogs groomed & kept clean! They don’t shed & need to be groomed! Nails clipped too! If you don’t want to take proper care of a Westie or any dog that has to be groomed, don’t get one!
