I think the Brother/ father image was true - he seemed genuinely distressed and confused that he reacted to her touching his scale. However, would he have made the connection if Zhu Yan had not used the last essence of her Great Grandmother’s spirit? But I have another question for you? If his true Love was Zhu Yan’s Great-great Grandmother then who is her Great -great grandfather father? Wish they had showed Yuan caring for her children after she died- although we know he did just that… I think it was clear that she was older than he was and Alen Fang can look 18 or his age(31) with a change of hairstyle. Difficult enough to mourn the loss of a loved one for a decade let alone 200 years. I thought they both sounded a little arrogant- like two men in love with the same woman.
