      You do realize that you're suppose to put it next to the couch (or even on it) so you can determine the best position for it by going all around the room and figuring out where the bass sounds best? He didnt just say put it next to the couch and you're done.

    Holy moly, I remember when (1970's) you bought a hifi "system", took it home and plugged it in. Common sense stuff like live vs dead rooms, turntable vibrations, and speakers set on the floor were pretty much understood. Standing waves and room nodes, which you don't even mention can effect the system sound more than anything else. All this fancy equipment you suggest ain't necessary. A good pair of fullrange speakers will give excellent dispersion, deep bass (35-40hz), brilliant highs and fill your room with BALANCED sound. There are many vintage speakers on ebay from brands like; EPI, Ohm, Genesis, Sony, Polk, Altec to name a few that will do the job for a lot less cash than the stuff in this video costs. This IS a helpful video, and does explain the "basics" well. But ya ain't gotta spend a lotta dough for truly great sound. Fuhgeddaboudit!

    Hi Patrick.
    The video you was in with Andrew Jones regarding his Elac speakers helped me choose the Uni-Fi's
    So a week back i got these Elac Uni-Fi speakers along with the Sonos Amp (mainly because of the streaming capabilities and its power rating). However, after hooking them up I'm not sure if I'm getting the desired loudness. They sound amazing at low volumes with laid back music but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong?
    I'm a novice and just getting into good equipment now. Hope you have some advice.
    Thanks.

    • @chrisholbrook4916
      @chrisholbrook4916 Před 5 lety +1

      Hello friend...Your HDMI on your 4KTV is for connecting external devices such as DVD/SKY/VIRGIN/X-BOX/PS4. as your TV is 4K I assume you have more than one HDMI input. You will also have digital inputs/outputs on your TV labelled digital OPTICAL/COAXIAL these are for connecting to your receiver to enable you to hear the sound through your system. the TV will also have analogue outputs L/R which can be connected to your receiver to provide you with sound...my advice would be to choose a digital input for better quality. The cheapest and easiest option for you would be to take a direct feed out of your TV to your receiver saving you a lot of hassle with regard to cables and individual line inputs. I trust this has been of some use to you.....

    The distance calculation is irrelevant for 2019.. I'm sitting 6 feet away from my 65" Sony X900F and I can watch any content from 4K down to 480P without noticing any pixels... Diagonal size vs distance formula cannot be linear, because the distance should be relative to the viewing angle (involve a trigonometric relation).

    • @absolutium
