    Great reaction, fun fact: the device that allows megamind to change appareance as a flaw. It can't change the eye colors, that's how you can tell who is who. Megamind keeps his Green eyes, Minion Brown eyes whent they turn into the prison director and Metroman who have a blue eyes.

    "Oh, you're a villain, alright! Just not a SUPER one!"
    "Oh, yeah? What's the difference?"
    "PRESENTATION!"
    Fun Fact: A whole crew of animators was dedicated solely to the movement of capes.
    Location Location Fact: The Metro City Observatory was modelled after the Griffith Observatory outside Hollywood.
    Action Voice Actor Fact: Instead of voicing his character from within a sound booth, Brad Pitt, who is a very active actor, insisted on using a handheld microphone for his performance and roaming around the studio.
    Don't Blink Fact: In the early portion of the movie, when Megamind (Will Ferrell) has Metro Man (Brad Pitt) trapped in the real abandoned observatory, look closely at the scene where the images of Megamind and Metro Man are being projected upon the buildings. Just after Megamind orders Minion to fire the death beam, there is a single frame where Metro Man fades slightly from the observatory screen and reappears faintly behind Megamind on the opposite screen. This foreshadowed Metro Man faking his death through superspeed.

      @@shadowcatreacts Is there any sign Metroman could tell Megamind doesn’t really have evil intentions? Metro doesn’t seem to come off as a bad guy, exactly, but to shirk his responsibility must have been a huge moral dilemma.
      I love the irony that the non hero giving up the hero label enables the non villain to fight the true villain of societal prejudice. Roxanne turned out to be the true hero after all.

    • @numbernumber25
      @numbernumber25 Před rokem +5

      @@JaggerG Well the best guess I have him Metroman being aware that Megamind does not have evil intentions revolves around two main pieces of evidence.
      The first being that throughout all their fights and battles, Megamind was never really out to hurt anyone and Metroman is aware of this. If he was out for bad intentions then the highlight of the first scene with the Warden would be the Warden reminding Megamind of any people he has killed or accidentally killed. Also just the fact that Metroman basically has a scene to reexamine their lives and chooses to fake his death, if Megamind was truly evil then Metroman would probably not want to leave the city of people to the hands of a murderer.
      The second reason he probably does not believe Megamind to have any evil intentions is simply that he chose to go with Roxanne to find Metroman. If Megamind did not care about any of the city, he could have easily just left because Hal literally makes it look like he killed him by squashing him with some structure. Instead Megamind chooses to find Metroman with Roxanne's help in order to stop Hal.

    • @JaggerG
      @JaggerG Před rokem +3

      @@numbernumber25 Good call. In retrospect, Metro Man’s acceptance speech hits differently. He probably literally thought a lot about if his life hadn’t been surrounded by Metro City. Very brave to step aside in good faith.
      He probably also made some killer lyrical bars, but just has a long journey ahead on developing his singing voice and learning instruments.

    • @numbernumber25
      @numbernumber25 Před rokem +2

      @@JaggerG Yup. Also, I am more surprised that they did not give him a short or any extra bits of him singing. I only say this because there is an official Megamind short produced that is a few minutes long and is supposed to take place following the events of the movie, Megamind is basically selling off his evil inventions for some reason. So I am was a bit surprised they did not have a short of Metroman on basically what he did while he was "dead" or even a funny montage of him writing lyrics for a song. I don't know, but a Metroman short would be pretty funny.

    One of the reasons this movie wasn't just HUGE when it came out was because it accidentally developed a bit of a fan feud between its fans and those of the movie 'Despicable Me' that came out at the same time. Basically 'Minion' and 'Minions' were the issue. Fans of Despicable Me claimed that Megamind was a rip off and boycotted it. Which was stupid but no one ever accused crowds of intelligent decision making. Megamind has become a cult classic because of people like you giving it a chance later.

    The Joker actually was the same way in a few situations where Batman “died.” He lost all enthusiasm to carry out crimes and became depressed. He fought Batman because he found joy in the plots and schemes. In one situation when he realizes Batman isn’t coming he tells Harley to put the jewels back and says “Without Batman crime has no punchline.”
    Also the Joker unlike most villains will straight up say what he’s doing or gunna do and challenges Batman to stop him. He cares more about the fight than the end result, because if he did then he wouldn’t tell anyone so he would get away with it.

    Last time I watched this I noticed something. Bernard himself only has one scene, but despite working at a Metroman monument, he seems to not care at all that Metroman just "died". He recognizes Megamind, but not as himself, but notes his dehydration gun, implying that not only is Bernard a Metroman hater, he is probably a bit of a Megamind fanboy. He calls Megamind's look tasteless, also implying that he has a sort of "grander" image of Megamind in his head, so I think it was a subtle way for the creators to indicate that to other people in society who were always living in Metroman's shadow, Megamind was already a hero, for standing against that jerk over & over again, even though he never wins

    Oh, one final comment, I promise. But, I think the best candidate Megamind should have chosen to be the hero...would have been Roxanne. She's already proven that she's a true blue believer in good and justice. The only problem with this is that if that happened, she probably would have killed him during one of their fights, because she was so sick of his antics, and that would have been a tragedy.

If he tried something athletic, scientific, mathematic, etc., he would already be incredible with no effort, and he probably knows a lot of that stuff anyway. He can't rely on his powers to learn music or other artistic things.

    A theory on why Megamind was just kept in prison since infancy: his own safety. If the prison gave him up, the government wold be the first to snatch up the alien life form that couldn't yet advocate for itself and disappear it into some underground lab forever. The warden and any other prison official who watched over him from the beginning probably realized that and did the best thing they could in the situation. As long as Megamind was under the prison's jurisdiction, the government couldn't touch him.

    Oh, also, besides the whole bad guy becoming good, and the whole misunderstood man becoming what everyone thinks he is...there is another angle this movie gives us. The Nice Guy and the Good Guy. Now, when I say Nice Guy, I'm sure we ALL know what I'm talking about. Those Incels that think they have copyright on a woman's attention and that no one else deserves her, and when he doesn't get her attention or validation, they don't understand why and get super angry with HER.
    Good guys on the other hand, do things that are good in a way that makes them feel good for doing them. Even if it's flipped around to make it look like he's doing them for a woman's love and affection. But, in his heart, he feels horrible when he does something TRULY horrible.
    There are moments where Megamind feels really bad for no other reason than he did something wrong. "Killing" Metro Man, having it all afterward, hurting Roxanne, things like that are what makes him a GOOD GUY.
    Nice Guys do nice things because they think it will get them something in return. Good Guys do good things because it's the right thing to do.
    And women go for good guys, not nice guys, because of this difference.

    9:58 You are right that most people can't handle it. In the late 80's a millionaire decided to do a social experiment. He selected about a dozen people from various walks of life. Some various levels of poor, one or two homeless, some middle class and some upper class people and gave them each a million dollars. He then checked in on them 5 years later. Nearly all of them were *exactly* where they had been before the received the money. The poor ones were poor again, the middle class ones were middle class again and so on. Only one or two of the people were able to hold on to the money.
    I've heard people quote studies like this and say that being poor is a mindset. While I would say that is mostly true, bad things happen and things aren't always in our control. Sure blaming circumstances for all our problems is wrong, but so is not taking it into account at all. Crap happens and we can't always do anything about it. So yes, most people can do something to improve their lot in life, but circumstances still matter. We all need to do the best we can and, if someone wins the lottery, my advice would be to immediately take money management classes and/or get some kind of financial advisor.

Love, education, and professional relationships are each significantly more important than cash.

    I love this movie, and your video was top notch. I usually don't stay for a whole reaction, but I had to watch yours to the end.

    I would love for you to react to movies that made me cry, like Arrival, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Hereditary.

      Hereditary made me paranoid as all hell for days, gave my homie night terrors for days, 10/10 best horror film ever created.

    Please watch "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once" if you haven't seen it already. I think you'd produce a _great_ reaction to that movie.

    10:35 "No, no, no. That's the best part. It'll just be, like, you and me."
    🤔 You... rented a DJ... and a bouncy house... and made an entire _gallon_ of dip... and it's just gonna be... just the _two_ of you?
    🤔 I mean it _sounds_ like you prepared for an entire _party._ Tell you what. Reserve that DJ and that bouncy house again, and make that dip again in two _weeks,_ but this time, invite _several_ people, including Roxanne. What's the occasion? No occasion. You don't need an occasion. It's a party. Party's are fun. Just make sure no one throws up inside that bouncy house.

      10:45 "Chicks don't like _bouncy_ houses! They like _clowns!"_
      🤔 I mean a chick _might_ like a bouncy house. It depends on how in touch she is with her inner _child._ 🤷
      If you _really_ want to meet women though, your _best_ bet is to learn how to _dance._ _Every_ woman loves a man who knows his way around the _dance_ floor.

    To answer your lottery question if I won the lottery, what would I do? Me personally, I would buy about 500 acres of land. I would put a small trailer on there for a few years while I built my house my workshop burned a couple of geothermal greenhouses plant a nice orchard a nice organic garden, and raise a few different species of farm animals. I would spend the rest of my life at tending to my plants and animals, and producing as much of my own food as possible from doing my own butchery and making my own cured meats to making my own sauces and canning my own food I would probably even get a dairy cow and learn to make song of my own cheese. This is what I would do if I was lucky enough to win the lottery. I would live in a more old-fashioned, traditional life.
