    Do the in-line hooks change anything with the corkys? Changed all my top waters over. Wanting to do the same with my corkys.

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  Před 2 lety +1

      I use both. I do in line hooks on corkys when I want to throw in areas that are easy to get hung up or if i want to make releasing fish easier

    May I ask is there a time of year not to throw a corky?

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  Před 2 lety +1

      People say that corky's are best in fall and winter. I disagree. I throw corky's all year with pretty good success all year long.

    Great video. I like all the color you have. That pistachio color is a good one also.

    Your video title should have read "True Salesmam" for Custom Lures of your Sponsers.

      I dont do lure sponsorships. I have sponsors for rods, reels, apparel but will not take a lure sponsorship.

    Blow Pop probably works well due to the transparency of it, which gives it a much more realistic appearance.
    Regarding "not custom", there are MANY that provide truly custom lures. Many who actually carve their own, but even if using blanks, they're custom paint jobs. Any time someone asks me to paint a lure for them, I ask what color, what pattern, any particular markings, flash, for murky or clear water, for sun or cloudy application....custom design. I don't make the lures, I purchase blanks. But the paint is absolutely custom. The customer even chooses the hooks and split rings, eye color, etc...custom.

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  Před 2 lety

      That’s exactly my point. What you are doing is “custom”, however if you took a blank and painted 1000 of them the same way, is it really custom at the point? It’s unique for sure but not what I consider custom.

  • @texassaltwaterlife4374

    Great vid brother u are right most lures and plastics are made to catch fisherman not fish ....fish don't see colors they see shades ...almost ready to get back out there house coming along nice

    I'm an avid freshwater striper fisherman. Since retiring (designer) I've gotten into airbrushing my own lures.
    Funny thing is, if you search for "airbrushed jerkbaits" you'll get some pretty amazing painted "things" that I'd never throw. There's a reason most brand-name
    lure producers generally focus on a fairly blase pattern - they work.
    So my lures are tending to go back on what you see sold, just with more detail and a better finish coat.
    I'm not a saltwater fisherman. Perhaps that's why your lures didn't attract my attention.
    The freshwater lure tends to be less colorful, less red, more whites with touches of green and yellow.
    But it does inspire me to try a few different 'looks'.
    Thanks.

    I think most custom do catch more customers than fish. I agree with your choices, the hot head has that variety of colors like the Texas chicken. Even with blow pop, high cotton, etc I catch more on a pistachio color soft dine. No rhyme or reason, but I suck at using fat boys.

    I'm new to corkies, got my first one at the fishing show GRB from AA. Custom painted Texas Chicken & they gave me sticker for my kayak.😁 Cool People help me 100%! I will be going to their location.

    Great video!
    As to customizing lures.
    Up here in Dallas ( Richardson precisely) there is Barlows… they sell lure making parts…. Fairly priced…. Allowing customization of “ blank” lures. Great for lure blanks and adding spinners, blades, skirts, hooks of your choice of sizes colors etc
    They used to have a showroom store but now are pure mail order
    Great online catalog.
    Also great lure add on … dollar store Nail Polish
    Glitter… Fluorescents. Clear varnish

    Good video and distinction between truly custom and PIMP* colors 😜
    *PIMP = post-industrial-manufacturer paint 🙂😂
    This posted for humorous purposes only, not denigration of folks producing unique color patterns.

    Love the honesty in your videos. It’s hard for a lot of people to pay $16+ for a custom lure. I’m also a blow pop guy. Great video boss
