There is no photos. Optical telescopes in high level Astronomy are not meant for visual light images. It is to collect data from different points of the EM spectrum, like ultraviolet or infrared. They can learn much about the composition of atmospheres and such using this method. They can make composites combining different data for images. If you did take a picture of that planet, it would just look like a slightly dimmer star. They wait for the planet to pass in front of the star and due to a bit of principles of chemistry the atoms give off light in different frequency ranges. They can then analyze that to find out how much of each element is present and such.
This is a new organisation. If they don't have the image from jwst then they're not gonna just show nothing. Then again, judging by the pos Honda as your picture, jdm fans are never bright
They need to put a disclaimer that this image is computer generated and not the real thing. I swear they're trying to gaslight us with our own ignorance.
As objects in space move away from us, they become "red shifted" toward that part of the light spectrum (same Doppler Effect you may be familiar with.) In order to see far away objects, the James Webb sees in infrared (literally "below red") which is part of the spectrum human eyes can't see. The infrared image is converted to the visible spectrum for our viewing pleasure! Next time you think you've debunked science, remember that actually learning stuff is fun too!
I think lay person would assume these satellites are optical lens zoomed in. Little do they know, all data collected are numbers which are converted to what human eye can see.
