    I like the "Construction Master Trig Pro" calculator. It lets you work in DMS like you need to, but also do calculations in feet-inches-sixteenths. It has a handy Pythagorean theorem function too.

      Yes great calculator. Just make sure it's approved by the NCEES board for their licensing exams.

    Hi Rami, thanks for this great video.
    How do you go about calculating the instrument height if we have the heights of the known points as well? Thanks.

    Great video pal still not sure what is an azimuth and why is it cosine for northing
    And sine for wasting

    I would use my HP-75C with the survey module. I would select the “Distance-Distance Intersection of Lines” routine. If I know the coordinates of 2 points and the distance from each to the unknown and enter them, it will give me 2 possible answers. Only one will be correct. Very easy to figure which is correct. It will take under 2 minutes to solve. I suppose I could use 2 separate sets of points and average the results to eliminate any sort of error. The software in the HP-75 machines is very powerful and not to bad to learn.
    It appears that 3 point resection is a tough thing for my little brain since I was a civil engineer and not a surveyor (Probably dangerous also 👀 . Many calculations are asking for errors. I like the way you used a GPS for checking your results. You are a genius for sure.

    @Rami, the link to download Adjust is not longer work... Any other recommendation?

    How can you get that adjust software with that interface you have? I instaled matchad 14 and "Imported" files that you left a link for, however it looks confusing and its hard to work with it especialy if u have a lot of data. Thanks in advance, keep up with good work!

    Idk if u gonna reply on this it was a year ago, but i just wanna ask.. Is resection use to get the coordinates of an unknown point em i right?
    If ever my guess is right, is it oke if i just shot blue and green then the unknown. Then put it in AutoCad. Align the two known point on their coordinates then voala i can get the coordinates of the unknown in autocad?

    How did you get coordinate of other point as after adding all angles you came up with coordinates of those points ?

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  Před 3 lety

      The coordinates are given to you. A resection utilizes known coordinates to find the location of your Total Station.

  • @PimpBeetle138

    How did you establish the known point coordinates? GPS? What was the method of establishing those GPS coordinates?

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes these points were measured using a GNSS Receiver that had a Fixed RTK reading through the CORS Network.

    During the field exercise of this resection survey. You said the instrument station is arbitrary ( I.e unknown) but now in your calculation you used the coordinates of the instrument station. How did you get the coordinates? Instead of calculating the for the coordinates of the instrument station you are calculating something else.

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  Před 3 lety

      No I am using the coordinates of the points we shot in. The objective is to find the coordinates of the total station.

    • @phil_boucher

      He used the Adjust software to calculate a 3 point resection to locate the total station and then manually calculated pink

  • @currencyemmanuel987

    In Resection we set our instrument in an unknown station and sight to a known station so how come u already have the coordinate of the unknown station (TS) without calculating for it

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, the total station has a resection function on it. I am simply explaining the process for educational purposes.

    Why dont you use drawing to show the figure that describes the station (colour) , their angles and unknown point. It would have been easier to understand.

    How the heck are your [N,E] coordinates so freaking large!? You were only 50-100 feet max in any direction. What's going on? Why would you not choose , say, your NE corner to be your origin [0,0]?

    I don't know what has happened, but your video segments have gotten all mixed up and no longer match your audio. Your AZ formula is just a flash at the beginning about 30-40 seconds before you talk about it . There are weird black screen segments. It looks more like a rough draft got uploaded. It is only happening to you office videos.

    Where did the esting and northern value come from @5.18 :- you refer to them as being revealed. Could have been a good video, but pulling numbers out of a hat and using none industry standard software just ruined it..
