The song is basically bulletproof. In addition to Del's excellent live version, Timi Yuro's pipes going full blast melt the vinyl. The Small Faces, a la Marriot, are a nice surprise. As previously noted, the song is bang! bang! bulletproof.
Thanx for sharing !! Seems its from the album "Live at The Princess Club,in Manchester" ! Whole album is filled with classic hits of Del and the atmosphere during this concert must have been very special+great ! by chance I've had the great luck to buy that album in a little record-shop many years ago ! Without any doubt this record is a real "pearl" !! ROCK ON,DEL !!!

Sad to tell you "The Princess Club" is long since gone. There's a Macdonalds on the site now. (At least there's some tenuous link to the USA). It was on Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, M21.
The best male version , Del's voice is strong 🎸💯% .
Have to agree David.
This could be my favorite Del Shannon song, among so many.
Hey he does a awesome job on this every song he does is amazing a true legend 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Del was a great talent not many left
love it, rip del

Gannon Roberts Ellen Foley not bad either.
Timi owns this song..imho!
Bobby Hatfield made a good cover too, imo. But then Bobby is a god, he can do no wrong vocally.
Another great delsannon performance
Seen him several times in his later years every performance great ,what a great live performer

I thought it belonged to Ellen Foley ... she gives this beautiful song so much pathos and passion ❤️
Pathos! fuck off with them complicated words. It's music
@@krissper2768 calm down boy . Pathos means feeling , is it a complicated word now ?
@@TheAnnas4cats I'm calm just not a fan of complicating things using fancy words.
@@krissper2768 it’s Greek , not fancy

You are the man, Halfabeet! This is clearly one case where the live version blows away the studio rendition.
TIMI YURO..SORRY, But SHE OWNS THIS SONG...NO COMPARISON! If anyone hasn't heard TIMI..PLEASE look her up..and listen!
Timi is the GREATEST.
He wrote this sing. HE owns it. Timi performance the best though.
very nice version thank for the sharing
great version 02/27/21
Great!!!!!!!
i used to have this on cassette
I still have the album on vinyl, although a little scratchier than this perfect recording.
Me too !
a price to pay when one hurts you
How good would the studio version be with Phil Specters magic on the mixing Desk ? I WONDER.
maravillosa interpretacion de Del Shannon de esta cancion de Timi Yuro........
Great song I went to see Del November 72 but althought it was his new single Del did not sing it I think you will find this was December 72

Love Del Shannon but this is Timi's song.
So agree!
I just gotta say Timi's original (I bought the 45 when I was 15) is as good as it gets but Del's version leaves nothing to be desired.
