He and his boys have been one of the main contributors of spreading all this fake news about the situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rodgers never comes back to the show.

Draft day? Inexcusable. He manufactured the news, that's Journalism 101 stuff.
As a Packer fan, I've loved how Pat and the boys have handled this. Attacking Pat for reacting to a big story doesn't help anyone, and hopefully no one ever listens to Schefter again. He knew what he was doing. Dan Patrick almost sounded disgusted after he admitted there was no source that day.
@@lochnessmonster5149 Dan is one of the best at what he does, he wasn't going to cause a scene but you could just tell, after Schefter said there was no source, and got him to admit he purposely broke it on draft day, the tone of the rest of the interview changed.

First off, grade-A name. Love the "V" in the perfect middle of both names, rolls off the tongue nicely. Could easily pass as a famous athlete name.
But I gotta say.... missed opportunity for saying "Shifty" of Schefter.

Pat in the background: "OHHH!!!!"
Then calmly sipped his tea. Just like the stupid kermit meme. Seems all professional sports are following the wwe scripted scenarios.
Shifter: “Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay”.
Everyone: “Is it true that Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay”.
Shifter: “It’s true I said it”.
He does want out tho lmao. Schefty just decided to drop whispers he’d been hearing for weeks so people would watch the draft.
@@dashingduck whispers arent official sources. He basically reported conjecture as news.
This is classic Rodgers. Let the media wind themselves up into a crapstorm with nothing but speculation and innuendo, but keep calm and principled behind the scenes. Makes me like Rodgers even more.

i think espns finally gotten to the cnn confidence level... where they say the quiet part out loud and just straight up lie into the public square a narrative without consequence now. i expect much much more of this 'journalism' going forward.
where their 'sources' become like when cnn cites the new york times who cites nbc who cites the washington post, who cites cbs, who cites abc, and really all theyre citing the same person: themselves.
fake news, with a fake buzz-generating story, likely ok'd by the nfl cause they were scared of a ratings plummet for this years draft that everyone forgot about until the day of.
As a Viking fan (yes there are a few of us) who followed the Favre drama unbelievably intensely back from 07 to 09, it was incredible how wrong or deceitful these “reporters” can be without anyone holding them accountable. If I was a pro athlete I would never talk to or even acknowledge the media. Marshawn had it right.
Him and Aaron are college friends
Neither of them ever talk to the media
@@randombutrelevant1606 I think the anger, whatever anger there is, was due to the fact that Green Bay is in a position to win now, and they used their first round pick to draft someone who doesn't help them now. The window for success is rarely open for more than a couple of seasons, and Aaron and the Packers know this, but as an organization they seemed to not care that they are in that window right now. Had they spent that draft pick on a key position player who could help the team now, instead of someone who spent the year on the bench, maybe they would have beaten Tampa and gone to and possibly won another Superbowl.
The fact that Adam Schefter doubled down as though he didn't do anything wrong...wow. He who controls the information is king
He didn't though. He took lots of little pieces of information he had, and assembled them to try and figure out what they meant. Maybe he got it wrong, but he didn't do anything nefarious. As far as it being reported on right before the draft, he straight up said chatter about it had increased so he decided he couldn't hold off on reporting it any longer because someone else would. Being first counts for a lot in journalism. And is it so surprising chatter about Rodgers maybe moving would increase around draft day, especially if it was real?

You can’t say that because Rodgers has not come out and spoke against it. He has not corrected this narrative.
I love Dan Patrick so much! He’s a real OG
Accountability! Something journalism hasn't had in a long while.
Imagine a world where the 'newsmedia' should be taking notes from sports reporters....we're living it.
Honestly there should be laws dictating that media can only report facts, and can only deliver opinions when they repeatedly declare that it’s opinions. Instead of “Aaron wants out” they have to say “I believe Aaron wants out”
But I guarantee that if you force accountability on the media they’d scream it’s a violation of their freedom of speech. When in actuality it’s just demanding integrity and clarity.
@@edmundmcquincy5464 If you look at the processes that lead to accountability vs those that lead to cancel culture, you'd see the two are polar opposites. One is an ordely accounting of facts before a certain select group of judges, whether in an employment, education, or criminal proceeding. Cancel culture is typically a swarm of Twitter users making a mass of reports based on incomplete or faulty info in an effort to achieve their desired outcome before the established accountability process can even occur.
@@adamrasmussen9939 Yep. Accountability is owning up to a mistake, or actually suffering consequences for illegal action. There's a difference.
@@edmundmcquincy5464
No. People trapped in a mob mentality call cancel culture "accountability".
There's a reason that people are apologizing less and less for even legitimate wrongdoing. Apologies are seen as nothing more than concrete admissions of guilt, and the idea of real "accountability" is long gone as a result.

Schefter the type of guy to tell you he thinks your girl is cheating cus he secretly likes her
I like how Adam is so casual and nonchalant in admitting he was blowing smoke up our ass
Well technically, the stories were true. There was just no source that something happened out if the blue and schefty reported on it, he decided to let it loose after the accumulation of sources and interviews. And yes it was scummy that he did it on draft day for a narrative, but it was technically true, and it may be blown out or proportion
There is a difference between “he would want out” and “he wants out right now, ultimatum, he won’t play.”
"There was no source."
So let's get this straight; Schefter:
1. Pulled a story basically out of his ass.
2. Released it on draft day to drum up drama for ESPN.
3. Waited an entire week to admit that Rodgers didn't leak the info, AFTER he was excoriated by the entire NFL media.

The media malpractice certainly starts at Schefter's door, but doesn't end there. He couldn't have planned it better to frame Rodgers. What the heck was he thinking? Hope he is held accountable.
So the guy who stole the shine from the rookie draft class was actually Adam Schefter 😂
So he literally just admitted that he basically made the whole thing up based on his own opinions and interpretations, and that he broke the story on draft night to get more clicks and because he "knew" it was gonna come out sooner or later and he wanted to be the first.
No he decided to release on Draft Day because it would carry the most significant weight and drag more attention but he didnt "make it up" right then and there he quite literally said its been a reiteration of the same thing we've been hearing all off-season that there has been discontent and animosity between the two, but the way he spun it made it sound like it was somehow new news which is the slick shady part.

But if somehow, things don’t work out (like the contract negotiation) then I can’t blame them if they leave. I personally think that Rodgers wants to stay (like how he said so on the show with Pat and the crew) but if the Packers can’t negotiate a deal with Rodgers, then it’s likely that Rodgers is going somewhere else. I am ok with this because it’s not like he wanted to get out of the Packers organization for so many years like how the media is protrayjng it. But what has led up to this conversation involving his department is actually a lack of respect and support for Aaron Rodgers over the years from the front office. I think Rodgers is unduly criticized for a lot of reasons.

Aaron did say something at the Kentucky derby about how he didnt like this got out means something is going on. How long would Roger's wanna hang out if this didnt break? We won't know. But with Aaron's contract, cap space, and his replacement already there...the packers trading aaron would give green bay an opportunity to stock up on draft picks.
