Mulberry (Norus) Propagation. Sow seeds in containers outdoors in Autumn. Root semi-ripe cuttings in summer. Root hardwood cuttings in a prepared bed in a cold frame in autumn. You can use thick pieces of 2 to 4 year old wood known as 'Truncheons' if treated as hardwood cuttings.

Great video, but I wish some of that fancy scalpel work you were doing was more in close-up.
I'd like to know more about what type of soil you are using to root the cuttings in.
Also ... when you say "grit", do you mean sand? That idea of having sand fall down in the hole to provide drainage is a good idea I have never heard before.

The step I had not known before is to make a hole before inserting cutting. : = ))

Great video JIm. I have access to a mulberry tree and I would like to take some cuttings. What type of cutting technique should I follow and when should I take one? Many thanks. All the best.

You don't throw a little water into your plastic bag? Or just not necessary?
