He deserves everything he’s got. Amazing guitar player, worked for everything he owns. Gives to charity but doesn’t broadcast it. Saw them first in 1974 and never looked back.
@A L I saw the Animals tour in 1977 also, a place called Bingley Hall in Stafford England. I think my ticket was around £3.50 £4.00. The gig in 1974 was the Dark Side tour, Trentham Gardens, England. Again i think my ticket cost £2.50 £3.00, great days A L, never will we see their likes again sadly.

I agree. He, but the band created a kind of music totally different of all before, with I fluente of blues, but totally new. With capacity of put the brains to see how they can expand. Of course, the letters and video clips, special effects in the concerts contribute, but essentially the song, ritmo, harmony, and song effects.

Get your facts staight bro, david did his first solo album 1978. Not when the butted heads during the finsl cut david did his 2nd solo album by then, just after.

I absolutely love David's work, my favorite guitarist by a mile, but I do find it hugely hypocritical to see a "socialist" that owns a Ferrari F40. Why is it only the wealthy seem to embrace that ideology? 🤔
Being a socialist is a very university posh thing. Socialism on campus is popular because University is a safe place without accountability. I've spent summers in Romania and Mexico. The Romanians would laugh and spit in Gilmours direction at his posh naivety. When you're wealthy and comfortable you can afford to be numb.

You can certainly notice how Roger Waters and Pink Floyd has that out of tune guitar sound without David Gilmoure. The other guitarists do almost as well but they have to change up to keep up with that Gilmoure guitar twang.

Go watch the 1988 Pink Floyd New York Concert video that just came out in 4K and tell me he is not the best musician of all time (I went twice that year and have seen Waters solo act too). Gilmore is Pink Floyd and Pink Floyd is an orchestra not a solo act.

Well we know one of the founders of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett did, and did and did. He was already living on the edge of sanity before LSD, but word is it that pushed him over the ledge for good. Syd Barrett, though a founding member and the initial guiding force with Pink Floyd in the beginning, was dropped from the band later due to his mental stability.
I loved learning about Gilmore on this video (no need to spend so much time on the front, back , side, insides of each vehicle).... Other than that, 👍
