- When I was 8 years old my first 'guitar' was a cardboard cutout of Paul Stanleys Iceman. 41 years later, on Paul's 69th Birthday (Jan20th) I finally received the real guitar. It's as awesome as 8yo Me would've imagined.
Hi Everyone. This is my first video to reach 10K views. I just wanted to say thanks to you for watching and liking and subscribing. This is very humbling. You guys Rock.
Very good. I was a big KISS fan growing up back in the day as I'm sure many people were. I still think Black Diamond is there best song. Just my opinion.
You're not wrong dude, its a classic and has a haunting feel to it, especially the live (early) versions of it
Agreed. Black Diamond all day long.

I've always loved the sound of the Iceman
I picked up a Ibanez Iceman bass years ago in pawn shop. Still waiting for a 6 string to find me. I know Paul has Dimarzio pickups in his.
It's a fantastic guitar.
That’s a cool looking custom model made for Paul Stanley. And just like the Red Guitar 🎸 made for Brian May, only he should play it! 😆
BAD ASS !!!!!
Nice guitar !
Thank you
I love that guitar...that's the next guitar I'm getting.
Very Cool
Kiss
Awesome
Ok
Ah
Looks like a good guitar.
Yes, I love it!!
Yeah 💪💪
🤘🎸
I was never a Kiss fan but I always loved that orginal Iceman he played. It looks smaller than the original tho'
It's a great guitar. As far as I know it's the same size as Paul's... I gotta be careful when I'm struttin' around the lounge room!!
KISS ARMY FOREVER!!!
\m/>.
HELL YEAH!!!
Nice Guitar and playing dude, try play this solo with slides between the notes i think will sound good, btw nice video. Hugs from Brazil.
Yeah. He’s playing it wrong.
bravo ciao da Italia RnR all nite RIK
Is that the Neck-Thru version or the Bolt on. I had the Bolt on version back in 2005. I got rid of it quite quickly because it felt like the Neck was going to just break or fall off.
Whatever Amp and Pick-ups you're using sounds great. Stay safe. I just Subscribed so hopefully you keep making great Videos. No pressure. LoL. 🎸
Hey Rik. It's the neck through version. It's great, it feels very solid.
Thanks for the comment and Sub. I enjoy doing the videos.
👍
Sounds awesome! What pickups are in the Iceman?
Thanks.
Neck pickup: Seymour Duncan '59 model
Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan Custom 5
@@trench_runner That's what I thought as it comes stock in that Iceman. Absolutely awesome combo. I've used the Custom 5 paired with a Jazz of 59. The Custom range are my three favorite Duncans. The Custom 5 is a real powerhouse and probably the most adaptable of the three Customs. I prefer it to the JB. I also love the Full Shred, although it's not as full bodied as the Custom 5. I always loved the Iceman and will probably get one someday. I grew up listening to Kiss I went ape for rock and roll when I was four, about 1977, and watching a Kiss concert on TV in L.A. When they played "God of Thunder" which Gene drooling stage blood, levitating on the platform, I went insane! I didn't even know the lyrics! I was making shit up, jumping on and off the couch. There is no elation like that, when you're a child with all the energy in the world and you discover the power of rock and roll. This music will live forever and make us fill a bit young when we hear it. Rock on.
@@angusorvid8840 That's Awesome Angus! I grew up with KISS as well!!
Where can I buy a guitar like this here in Mexico?
Sorry my friend, I don't know. I'm in Australia and I've only seen 2 in the last 2 years.
Keep looking, they are an awesome guitar.
Paul Stanley's guitar playing Ace Frehley's solo.
Actually that's a Bob Ezrin solo. Ace had nothing to do with that solo
@@thomasdonohue1833 …..other than playing it.
Hi there, nice cover man, just working on the same to learn... not as easy as it looks, at least for my skills.....Wonderfull guitar, how does is feel ergonomicaly, is it closer to Explorer or something regular like LesPaul?
Thanks. It's close to an Explorer, but the body is thinner which also brings the weight down. It feels great to play. I was nervous about getting one but it's a great guitar, I love it.
@@trench_runner Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated :) I may trigger the PS60. Untill than I will check your other covers too. Keep up the good job!

did you do any kind of set up on this guitar?
It was Plek'd and set up at the shop where I bought it. It played great straight out of the box.
@@trench_runner alr thanks i was just wondering cuz i have no guitar store near me, nor can i set up guitars so just wanted to know if its playable without a proper setup
@@zorbas1982 from the factory they are usually pretty good and playable, also there are YT vids on how to set up guitars. but a proper set up makes them really good
@@trench_runner ok thanks so much 🎸🤘 and also greeat cover💯🌟
lol just wanna ask what amp do you use for the kiss tone?
I don't use amps for my vids. They are all recorded in Garageband. This tone is a Garageband preset called Metal Wah but I've modified it slightly.
What amp did you use?? 🔥
All of my vids are recorded using Garageband. This one I used a backing track with no guitar, then I recorded 2 tracks, melody and harmony (Ace and Paul). Then I worked out what I wanted to play and deleted those parts. Then I recorded the missing parts with video and put it all together. The GB preset I used is called Metal Wah (in the Legacy presets), but I turned off the Echo in the plugins, opened up the Noise Gate and added some reverb. Hope this helps. Any more questions just let me know.
@@trench_runner That is excellent !!! I asked you because your distortion sounded very clean and clear, I have the problem that I have a lot of noise and I can't find a good setting to sound without noise.
@@yedielle Thanks. Find yourself a preset that's close to what you like and then 'Save as' with your own title. Then just tweek away... you may screw it up but don't worry just delete and start again. I have 9 presets (so far) that I use across all my vids. Also for noise I use Muslady Wireless System. They have built in noise gate, it's very low but it's great for what I want. I bought them off ebay.
How was this guitar when it arrived, did it need much work ? How does it compare to other guitars you have?
It was Plek'd before it arrived, and it was awesome out of the box. It's lighter and thinner than an LP, which is nice but the big lower horn is easy to bump into stuff. I do love it!
@trench_runner Thanks, I just ordered one and I'm hoping it doesn't need too much work.
Cool. Let me know how you like it.
@trench_runner I think I got lucky. The guitar arrived and it's pretty good with low action. I'm impressed, the pickups are great. I think I'll just upgrade the tuners to Gotoh locking ones and leave it there 🎉
@@booshting3520 Man, that's awesome. I know you'll love it!

You really need to work on your vibrato.
Yeah I find it tough. Any tips?
@@trench_runner Devote some practice time just bending on every string , every feet. Shoot for pitch accuracy and be able to bend both a half step and a whole step in key. Slow your bending down too. Ace had one of the best vibratos out there in his day, so you picked a great guy to learn from. You can do it, Good luck!
@@johnmarshall3903 thanks
Why is a mid 40s guy wearing kiss t shirts? Grow up and get yourself a woman
Ahh... my first keyboard warrior. Thanks for your comments.
@@trench_runner I'm not a keyboard warrior. I've been playing guitar since I was 14. I know kiss songs backwards and forwards and know they are very basic. The only redeeming quality of kiss is Ace Frehley. That being said, I quit wearing kiss t shirts when I was about 30. I have trunks full of them I will sell you. All from the reunion tour. I'll eventually get around to throwing them away. I also know Ibanez makes cheap guitars. I own two of them
@@thomasdonohue1833 For sure, I'll buy those Kiss T-shirts. Local delivery or pickup is good for me.
@@trench_runner I live in Columbia SC
@@thomasdonohue1833 sorry Bud... Australia. But while you're here check out my other vids... you might see some more guitars and t-shirts you like.👍🤘🤘
Anything with Paul Stanley's name on it is a piece of shit. If you were going to buy a kiss guitar you should've bought the Ace Frehley Les Paul. At least Gibson makes good guitars. Epiphones are better than anything Ibanez makes
Nice! Anyone know what mode / key this solo is in? I wish I knew theory better...
The notes that I play on the guitar are in the scale of C# minor. But the guitar is in the tuning of Eb. So the key would be C minor.
