I think these sanctions will have a small effect...not enough to hinder....however it's a first step because as a leader, if he actually sends more troops, his allies will send more troops, causing a full scale war of bloodshed....right now this is the start...or to put it simply: the first steps in trying to prevent bloodshed outside of the nation being attacked (ukraine)...or to better put it, they don't want to do too much because they want to try their hardest to stop world war 3 which a lot of the world now believes will be inevitable...at least that's my view but tbf I'm just a naiive teenager who's only aware of this because it's the most well known thing currently out there and I don't know much about what's going on
