    Hello from Spain,
Very nice video and amazing wrasse!
Can you tell me what kind of setup/rig did you use on this video? I mean, what kind of rod, line, weight, size of hook, and bait did you use on this video?
    Thanks a lot.

Hello. The set up was just the weight tied to the mainline with a short dropper with the hook tied on. The rod was a rockfish L. The line was 15lb spider wire braid with a mono leader. The weight was 7g and hook was a size 7 i think. Bait used was small sections of rag worm.

Great video Gary. Do you do much LRFing in the north east?

Thanks for the video, I'm heading to Anglesey later this year, so I'll head for the harbour there. Where was the first location? I see you say you do LRF fishing in the North East, can you recommend any good venues, I'd like to catch as many different species as I can , and I'm totally new to fishing. I've seen Staithes and Whitby harbours, are they any good? Thanks for your time. 👍🏻😀🎣

Thanks for the comment. The first location was at the start of the breakwater in Anglesey. For LRF fishing local i would recommend South Shields Pier, Roker Pier, Mill dam and the ledges at whitburn. It all depends on what species you are targeting where you should go. I haven't fished Staithes or Whitby harbours so i couldn't comment on them but if you need any info on my local area around shields let me know.

Thanks Gary .. as I say I'm totally new to fishing. I just like the idea of catching as many of the different small species as I can. I was told Hartlepool Marina was good . I went a couple of weeks ago , blowing a gale .. probably too early and too windy for the 6lb braid ... :(

Yeah I've heard Hartlepool Marina is ment to be good. I've never been i'll have to give it a try some time. I think the water is still a little bit cold round here but the fishing is starting to pick up. check out www.seaanglingreports.co.uk there is loads of useful information on there and if you join you can see the local catch reports, if you get stuck the lads will help you out.

Hi Gary , hoping you can help .. can you think of anywhere in the north east that has some really good rock pools , I'm hoping to have a stint on Friday somewhere looking for a few gobies , Blennys and maybe a Scorpion !
I've looked online, and Staithes , Runswick , Saltburn , Banburgh and Blackhall Rocks are names hat crop up .. I'm guessing it's still a little too cold for the fish to hit Hartlepool Marina. ?

Hi. Try around camels island at Marsden bay there's some canny rock pools around there with a chance of catching blennys, Scorpions, Butter fish and Eel pouts. Here's a link to a video i made around there last year so you can see the area czcams.com/video/w6K7cHhQcqE/video.html

I'd a 3 and a half pound Pollock on my LRF a couple of weeks ago, didn't think I was going to get it in (I cheated and hand balled it up the pier wall)
