- Nearly a week after Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed, almost two dozen sailors remain stranded on-board the vessel involved in the accident.
Most of the crew of the Dali, a 948ft (289m) container ship, are from India. One was slightly injured when the ship collided with the bridge.

They aren't stranded, they're manning their ship which is exactly what they'd be doing even if the ship wasn't stuck in Baltimore. The ship is still operating, and still needs a crew. They were departing for a 27 day voyage. And ALL of the crew is from India.
correct
There Merchant Marines they are home right were they are. Ships company they have no were else to be there underway.
thank you for your comment, they have to look after the ship
Absolutely awful choice of music.
Couldn't possibly have played a more irritating 'musical' soundtrack for this video ! Fire the person thought that this was an appropriate selection.
What happened to the American professionalism ? We garbaginalise everything.
Stop the supid drums!!!
That is the crew banging against the hull trying to get off the ship.
AGREED! Stop the f__king drums! And I'm a drummer!
I'm old enough to remember when CNN actually WAS the most trusted name in news. How times have changed.
The ship needs a crew until it is freed and docked. They're hardly "stranded." They were embarking on a 30-day voyage. It's not like they're starving or without warmth and light.
they live on ships several months at a time. only a idiot or trouble maker would think their stranded.
If they are still there in November someone will give them a ride to the polls
What a stupid question CNN- News 18.
That’s the only kinds of questions they ask.
There is no way that ship can go back out to sea even when the wreckage is removed, the bow is heavily damaged it would have to go back into dock and the cargo containers removed a temporary patch to the bow must be made and checked by the authorities before it can leave the port for more repairs.
From what I've heard, two forward compartments are flooded.
So what about the owner or owners of the ship? I haven't heard anything from them yet, are they ever going to hold a press conference?
I heard on another channel the owners are advising they are not responsible and if it comes out that they are they want a cap on the payout attached
Shipping industry is the dirtiest in modern day transportation.
The owners are the ones with money, they won't be the ones inconvenienced. Everyone else has limited liability except the third world workers with shitty contracts.
I don't think that shipping is any better than trucking. It's all freight so the profit margin is razor thin. They might seem to have a lot of money but it's tied up in equipment and expenses. Also the risk is pretty high.
Company in Singapore owns the dali ship
The Swarm of people crossing the Mexico Boarder do not have proper paper work either. What's the difference-none
Thank the GOP for not passing the legislation that they themselves wrote to stop the flow. It's more important to cast blame than fix the problem.
@@betsyvoss49Biden EO'ed all the stuff that Trump had in place that was working right after he started. It's Biden's fault, stop trying to fake news the blame to the GOP. Now Biden's lying that he doesn't have the power or authority
The crew is working no matter if the ship is at port or at sea. Unlike the sailors of the MV Ethan in Port of Québec in 2017.
When something is big, it isn't so easy to stop. I wish people would figure this one out. We'd be a whole lot safer.
Worried about 27 crew but not about the thousands crossing our border
You can be worried about both. Geez.
Obviously not. They are not stopping the border ones.
Maybe they could help fix what they destroyed
Dali crew done screwed up there all going to jail
Unlikely. If one or two of them falsified maintenance records, they may have an issue, but a majority of the crew will not be at risk of jail.
Does Domino's Deliver 🍕🍕🍕??
Criminal joe wants to keep them.
Drums have a primal feel. Like crime.
That ship will be sitting there for awhile
God bless America ❤
Lose the music.
The music 😂
Mobile hot spots?!?!? That was the priority? Not food, fresh water or fuel? Are we afraid to deprive them of TikTok?
They were leaving for a 27 day voyage. They were already prepared to spend that long at sea with food, water and fuel.
😢😢 so sad
The owners could send a salvage company to bring back container ship . Or send another ship to bring the containers that is not damaged. But if it turns out the ship receive contaminated fuel, while it was in port. That means the fuel company is on the hook for damages.
Maryland Government will offer them retirement pay and new homes for them and their family's. Governor says, that's the wayzz wezz roll..

With the time for the planed voyage they were not about to disembark. They are still on generators and stuff needs painting. They will wait until the end of the contracts.
They make like 25k a month theyll be fine
Not practicing PMS?
Wish I hadn’t given up some of my life for this drivel
Send them home maybe?????F.J.B... total disgrace to air
Seems we need some better engineering why not dredge a channel next to old one? How about getting a bigger crane from Europe they have big ones.
Because there's a bridge in the way. The current channel went through the wide spot between the bridge piers.
Uber Eats to the rescue?
Million dollar questions❓
From india do they speak english
speak Indilish, like you heard so many time on scam calls.
I'd expect most of them to speak at least passable English as that's the common language in India. And, what most ports conduct business in.
The crew must be traumatised as any folks involved in a significant accident. Their families would love to be with them but cannot while investigations that I presume continue. Their nationality is irrelevant - in the same way as the nationality and paperwork of the port-appointed pilot is. The crew on the ship are working to ensure (1) it does not list or sink or (2) release oil or other effluent creating a further environmemtal issue (3) help the salvage and safe removal of the ship in due course. They deserve more than our support as much as other s
Namaste All,
What Going On With Shipping CZcams Channel by Sal Mercogliano and with his guest William Boyle, was very interesting Video and thank you for these on-going updates, good information is always welcome too.
Will the bottom of the channel have to be dredged and the bottom profile reshaped, maybe even the channel bottom depth increase too, that is across the whole width of the waterway too?
That after all the bridge wretches and debris has been removed, or believed to have been removed, as no bridge wretches and debris can be left as underwater obstacles and danger to deep draft large vessels.
Though will the Bridge Pier's or Column's old underwater large and massive reinforced concrete and steel foundation, have to be removed now too, or will they just be cleaned up and left hidden somewhere underwater?
or be cut off at the waterline with navigation warning lights and buoy's place around them, to warning passing vessels where they are under the water?
Also will what is left of this bridge, still standing the reinforce concrete pier's and Columns, plus roadway decking and the remaining bridge spans, have to face demolition work being carried out on them too, or just removed and taken down at some point too.
So a whole new bridge can be built, that is if a new bridge is to be built at this same location at all?
Or if the old bridge could be replaced by a new bridge, at a different location down the channel say?
Or the Old bridge maybe being replaced by an underwater road and rail tunnel, that goes under the water channel bottom,?
Or in fact an underwater tunnel is placed inside a dredged and dugout underwater trench, which crossing the water channel from North to South shorelines instead?

Side curtain air bags on the Dali?? LOL
They are basically on paid vacation at sea. Not much going on that needs attention.
Still needs watches stood in the engine room as there's generators and pumps running. They may also have routine maintenance to deal with.
At some point, any refrigerated containers that are loaded will need to be refueled and serviced. And any breakdowns taken care of.
Obama, clinyenyahooo, bidermonicass. You read that right. Good luck.
I guess since we are in Indian territory you can hear them playing the drums I don't see any smoke signals yet.
I guess they'll be sent home. The Dali is damaged and can't sail anywhere.
The Dali is going to the scrap heap after this investigation is over. No Port will do business with that Titanic now
very strange way of looking after the ship crews, its not normal they did not do anything wrong, they deseved a better place to stay and not like suspect that they have done aney things wrong
They aren’t being held in a prison. I think it’s safe to say they are getting all the necessities, food, water, medical supplies if needed. They get to sit around playing video games all day. And they will get paid for their time too.
The crew is manning their ship. They were leaving on a 27 day voyage. Why do you think this is some kind of unbearable hardship on the crew?
Really! Are you that ignorant?
Maybe the Maryland governor should give all members of the Dali crew a lifetime free ride pension. After all, he's getting a brand new bridge of his choice all paid for by CROOKED Joe Biden and his economic stooges. LOL
@@bobvecchi304 afterward of thinking about what I written fogote that the have stay aboute running the ship internal equipemente
Some crew sneak ashore, gets reported as killed in the wreck, family gets millions..
Just wondering. Did they get back up power running. If not how are they heating the crew quarters. Hopefully food or Groceries will be delivered to the ship. They might be there for awhile I am assuming.
They were leaving for a 27 day voyage. Food and water shouldn't really be an immediate problem.
And they have aux diesel gennies for power.
.Crew don't have the paperwork to leave the ship into U.S., when has Biden required any paperwork?🤣
They almost certainly have passports. And almost certainly have current vaccinations for anything that we require. What may be lacking is visa paperwork.
The main issue is that they are the crew and cannot abandon their posts without being relieved. This is a Maritime issue, not an immigration issue.
