Cool. I’ve been riding an hour 100 for 25 years. Now I have an hour 1150 GS and this is really really helpful. Thanks.
GREAT job I like your editing style! very easy to follow along to
Awesome, thank you!
1st time on your site. great job. well done will be back for more.
Welcome aboard!
I like the reference to hex wrench size and other toolsizes that's very helpful.
The 1st problem is my site glass is all cloudy and I really can't tell if there's any oil on it or not and 2nd problem was the bike fell over on the right cylinder cylinder and after I finally got lifted up it was smoking like hell.. Which translates to how much oil leaked into the cylinder and how much did I burn up coming coming to the previous fact of I can't tell what the oil level is so either I must change fresh oil again or the oil light is just starting to come on at a low Isle so certainly it must be point 75 court and 5 qt low Maybe even one qt I think I added half of a court already.. Probably just do a redundant oil change again... Now only 40 to 50 bucks as compared to not that long ago it was about $18
Writing R1150R and also R 1100 S currently for sale for sale classic black.
Thanks always happy to find good Info online 🙏🙏
Thank you well done!!
Great video.. Thx for what you do.
My pleasure!
I just bought a 2002 R1150 RT with a metal fill plug. While removing the filler plug with an 8mm allen key, I noticed what felt like a lot of grit. I didn't notice anything in the threads. I proceed to finish the oil change and after adding the oil I tried torquing the plug and I got the same gritty feeling then it let go and was just spinning. I tried removing the plug but it was stuck. I removed the valve cover and found that the metal retainer on the inside was spinning. I grabbed it with a pair of tape covered pliers and got the plug out. I can't find any info on this sort of plug. Everyone seems to have a plastic one. Any insight into how I can repair this?
I'm trying this tonight on my R1150R
how did it go?
@@TheBMWGuy it went very well. I've never owned a motorcycle that I can change the fluids so easy.
Oil filter? And oil type? Where do I get those?
Thanks
Please consider “joining” my channel. It cost as little as 1.99$ abs really helps me out.
You fill the oilfilter with motor oil before inserting it
Now to change the engine oil sight glass.
i will soon!
Is there a way to change the service light when you service them I own an XR1000 2019 MODEL Thanks
Yes… gs911
How often do you lube your splines and how can you tell if they are going bad or dry?
I’ll make a video on it. The “splines” are not the rear drive ones the most people think. It’s the transmission to clutch splines that fail.
@@TheBMWGuy that would be awesome!! I know most of all the 1150s if not all have short splines. It would be nice to explain what the symptoms are and how often they need to be service etc... I'm very please with your content! you are doing great!!!
You're doing oil change with Apple watch on your wrist?
should i do it with a rolex? haha
do you check the level on the center stand or off and balancing ?
On Center stand
