Is it true that if I haven’t made any payments and I make one, then skip like five the “clock” starts over ?

Making a payment may reset your statute of limitations even if you stop paying after that one payment. Give us a call/text at 833 272 3631 or schedule some time on our calendar here calendly.com/ascnd/call

Great question - are you asking whether the creditor can garnish for an old cell phone bill? Thanks!

Hey! I am so sorry to hear you are going through that. If you only have exempt income then they may try to put a lien on your property but if you do not have that either then there may not be much they can do to pay off the debt. If you are wanting to stop the garnishment you can call and see if you can work out a payment plan, file bankruptcy, or possibly try to contest the garnishment. If you have more questions, give us a call at 833-272-3631!

if you call and ask does mean that you are accepting the debt and if the debt is over 4 years old than you do need to pay, I believe there is a status of limitations for debts right?

I also pondered the same question. I wrote a verified letter mail about my debt information. It showed that they received the written letter from me. And I have not heard a response from them since 2015, or anything regarding my debt.

Great questions! Here is a link for the statute of limitations per state tryascend.com/debt-collection/lawsuit. It gets tricky because it's based on the last activity of the account. As for accepting the debt, they will likely come after you whether you call or not. You can send a letter to have them validate it but the likelihood of them saying it is "invalid debt" is not super common.

Sometimes they may not choose to collect or come after you or they may be waiting to collect, so it's important to keep watching to see if they do.

I think your speech cadence is not too slow or too fast. Keep doing these type of videos. Knowledge is power so you are giving your audience the power seek a way to solve their problem. Also do you take clients in Sacramento?
