    Great video mate. I’m glad you got to do a jibe. From watching your earlier attempts, I can see that you aren’t getting your rear foot right across to the opposite side of the board on the rail just in front of the rear foot strap, and then you are leaning too far back as you’re turning so it’s stalling the jibe (running out of speed). Once you have your foot established on the opposite rail just in front of the rear foot strap, pull your boom in and lean forward so you are centred over the board, and lean towards your leeward rail. Look towards where you want the go and step forward near the mast base as you swap feet. Good luck ! 😊

  • @gatesurfer
    @gatesurfer Před 3 měsíci +2

    First of all, rig the right size sail. Even experienced sailors find it difficult to jibe if you are rigged too big. If you’re just learning the jibe, it’s almost impossible. Why? Because when you are overpowered, the first thing you do after you unhook is lean way back. It feels like that’s the only way to control the sail. You wind up fighting the sail - that’s why you’re screaming so much - and when you have to fight so hard to control the sail, you bend your arms. Now, it’s actually ok to bend your BACK arm. In fact, you SHOULD bend your back arm because you need to stay sheeted in for the entry into the jibe. However, if you bend your FRONT arm, you will NEVER develop a good jibe. Notice on all of your jibes except the last one, your front arm gets squished up close to your body, your elbow severely bent. This is DEATH to jibes. Only on your last jibe, you let your front arm extend a bit away from your body. You must strive for this position.
    Bending your front arm and leaning back just loads up more and more force into the sail. That is why halfway through your jibes, you can’t hang on any more. There’s too much power in the sail. So You fall backwards, and the sail springs forward. I’m surprised that you haven’t damaged the nose of the board a lot this way.
    If you take the right size sail, you won’t be overpowered going into your jibe. You can sheet in with the back hand and extend the front hand without having to lean back very much, if at all. It’s really best that you don’t lean back at all. That way you basically outrun the wind as you head downwind, and the sail becomes relatively light in your hands, instead of getting heavier and more difficult to manage. It will be much easier to flip. Also, if you aren’t leaning back, you can be much more agile on your feet, and you can switch positions much easier. If you lean back, you’re going to be clumsy, you’ll lean back, the tail will sink, and you’ll slow down, and then you’ll be fighting the sail again.
    SOOOOOO. RIG THE RIGHT SAIL. See what the other windsurfers your size are using and don’t go bigger. In fact, maybe go a bit smaller, maybe .2 or .3 square meter smaller. A bigger board can make up the difference and will help you plane through the jibe. It will make the sail easier to handle. The whole experience will be much easier to control, and therefore much less scary.

    Mega! Herzlichen Glückwunsch!!! Ich hoffe, aber wir sehen noch viele weitere davon auf Video ;)
    Du kannst dir deine Halsen mal in Super-Slomotion angucken (x 0,25). Ich finde, du bekommst in der geschafften Halse deinen Fuß weiter Richtung Bug und auf die Innenkante. Außerdem schaffst du es vorgelehnt zu bleiben. Zuvor stellst du vor allem deinen Fuß zu weit aufs Heck. Dadurch ziehst die Prinzip die Handbremse und es wird instabil. Bleib dran :)

    • @sebastianheise9694
      @sebastianheise9694 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Du kommst in die verbesserte Position weil du von einer Welle getroffen wirst :). Dadurch setzt du den Fuß weiter Richtung vordere Schlaufe als üblich und gehst mehr in die Knie nach vornegebäugt ;)

    Warum die lange Pause? Eigentlich habe ich ja gedacht, Du bist komplett aufs Wingen umgestiegen.
    Gute erste Halse 👍🏼👏🏼
    Aber Du kannst sie auch gut dafür nehmen, welche Fehler Du noch machst.
    Achte mal auf den langen Mastarm beim shiften, wenn Du den Mast zu Dir an den Körper ziehst, shiftet das Segel noch schneller.
    Mach weiter so 👍🏼👋🏼
    Hi Till, gerade gefunden
    czcams.com/video/Sn5C37eEu28/video.htmlsi=-m8hLSa0L4QkxMuG
    Achte mal ab Sekunde 50 auf den Mastarm. Erst nach vorne gestreckt, dann kurz vor/mit dem shiften mit der Hand ans Frontstück gerutscht und dann den Mast zum Körper gezogen. Das beschleunigt auch die Rotation extrem.
    Außerdem bleibst Du dadurch (in Längsachse) mittig über dem Board und hälst es somit plan am gleiten.
    Mal sehen , ob mir das im Urlaub auch so gut gelingt, werde es auf jeden Fall im Kopf behalten.

  • @ScrattleGG
    @ScrattleGG Před 3 měsíci +1

    Try to step more forward when jibing, and then slide your hand forward on the boom. Your front hand is way too far backwards so when you release the sail it doesnt swivel around the mast it swivels around your hand not allowing it to jibe easily. Right now you're doing an extra grab with your backhand in front of your front hand on the same side of the boom as your entry tack -- it is too slow - it helps immensely with balance to get the sail flipped as you can let the wind on the new tack catch you instead of trying to balance at all -- my balance is shit, but with wind in the sail you cannot fall backwards
