sly 4 was a great game, and sadly it was overshadowed by the controversy of certain decisions. My only wish is that we got to see more Cooper ancestors, especially since we never got that sequel. But man, if you're gonna make a sexy fox cop, you can't give her a strapless push up bra as a top and a short skirt that's gonna flash someone every time she does one of her roundhouse kicks. She looks pretty decent in the cutscenes though, I just wish she looked way better in game.

The only thing that bothered me about that outfit was the top. Even then, Carmelita could wear ANYTHING and still kick your butt and look good doing it.

Honestly loved the belly dancing level a lot.
It's hilariously *out of character* enough for her that she stays *in-character* REALLY well.
Not to mention everyone's gotta do something they hate eventually. Sly threw himself into jail, the Panda King joined the gang, Bentley learned how to drive a stick-shift, etc.

To be completely honest, it was pretty softcore the most we got out of it was navel…
Years late, but IMO the issue with the belly dance was:
1) shaking the controller to shake her ass, complete with close-up and jeering mandrils
2) Carmelita was horrifically underused in TiT since she only gets used essentially once per episode after she joins the team (and in the case of Cave of Clan Racoon, not even)
The second one IMO is the bigger issue - she just wasn't really used despite being part *de facto* of the gang now, or at least giving her some levels on her own in Cave of Clan Racoon to act as a sort of soliloquy for her. She just sat around at the hideout and occasionally did a short shooter segment. If she was more proactive in the story as part of the team in a way that brings up her skillset outside of shooting things (she put together the dossier Sly used to go after the Fiendish Five in the original game, after all), I don't think it would have been as big a deal. But in the context of everything else, I think the belly dance was just the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of people, particularly given how the game also toned up the 'attractive' factor for Penelope as well in contrast to her original design.
TLDR, I don't think the belly dance on its own is bad, it's just that in context it was sort of the point where it sort of highlighted how badly the game was using Carmelita as a character (with point one being the point a lot of people get the first slap in the face of it, the second being a likely realization from wondering why it bothers them so much)

I did see those images of Carmelita before, their really amazing and beautiful, it definitely captures her “sexy” type of side for a mature audience since she looks older after all (not sure how old she was in 4 tho) I wouldn’t mind if the next game went a bit more darker and a bit more for a mature audience, especially with her, It would be a dream come true for me.

Don't have much to say about the concept arts about Carmelita or those level-designs, but that "Sir Robin Cooper" could actually be Sir Galleths child. They look really similar even their outfits, they seem to be from around the same time (medieval england), so there could be some connection between them. Furthermore, "Sir Robin" could also be "Släi"s Father? Or maybe grandfather, something like that.
I take it he was more of a grandfather to Slaigh looking at the time gap.
Carmelita's my favorite Sly Cooper character, especially when she and Sly are together. They're my favorite video game couple that I don't crossover.

I remember playing the Thieves in Time demo and I didn't mind Carmelita's design (since I only played Sly's, Murray's and Bently's segments). I mean, I don't play Sly Cooper but I wish Sony and Sucker Punch/Sanzaru (or maybe Insomniac Games) gives Sly Cooper a new game on PlayStation 5 because I have missed a gem of a franchise.

I never saw the Carmilita Concept Art but I did see the one about Rioichi and the Shark and thought it was an interesting backstory to Rioichi. The Carmilita Concept Art is interesting but I don't like the one with the pink highlights. It doesn't look good on her.

Why would people have a problem with the belly dancing minigame? Putting badass characters into embarrassing situations is a really common trope that no one had issues with before.

I always thought Sir Galleth was an odd choice for being a thief and a knight. Robin Hood or Sir Robin would make much more sense to be part of the cooper family. I stumbled on the Carmelita concepts on the sly wiki and was very surprised on the sexy direction that was initially made. There's more detail on the clothes wrinkles, hair and facial expressions on the left image which gives her a more seductive look. It's mostly that smile & posture that makes her more adult as seen with the other illustrations. The narrow eyes/stare also helps in conveying that lustful appearance.
Sir robin makes sense since robin stole from the rich. Just like sly cooper.

Vivi I always look for some interesting hidden things in games one thing I notice, was the Giant Robot Owl that apears in all time travelling, it needs to be in a specific time to see it, he aways on top of a building looking around my question is, HOW OLD IS CLOCKWORK,I think I misspelled.
Yes that was Clockwerk, mostly an easter egg. It was their way of showing how Clockwerk was there always watching. As for the ice age level, well if you want to theorise, maybe he time travelled from the future as one way ticket with no turning back.
I find it... "Interesting" to say the least, these concepts.
I was confused when I saw the hair concepts, considering that they were brown. Shouldn't it be blue? I could be possible that Sanzaru were planning to change her hair colour. Maybe they were planning to change that back later on in production though.
I find it also interesting that they wanted more adult approaches to the character. Surely the game would receive a higher age rating? Wouldn't that drastically change sales? Perhaps they just wanted to see a more "revealing" version and wouldn't use them, but why?

I knew about the Sly series ever since the PS2 days. I really got into it when I picked up the collection in 2010.
I feel if there was a seductive character they could've made aside from Carmelita, it could've been Henreitte Cooper, who when not commanding her ship as a captain would appear as a gorgeous but subtle femme fatale, who even has two eyes but wears the eye patch to play the name & can leisure with ease when she chooses to be incognito.
Would be a superb idea for Sly 5 whenever that gets made. Henriette has the makings of becoming a fan favorite ancestor much like Tennessee Kid Cooper.
Also do you ever remember playing crash bash on the ps1 at all? It's a fun game with lots of cool mini games but not really a great crash game and not as good earlier games in the series. It makes me wondering if it'll get Remastered at all too. What do you think?

That's so pathetic what they did to thieves in time... I wish they'd added more depth to it. I haven't played Sly Cooper in almost a year now.. I think a remake is called for honestly, one with a bit grittier story line, like, the death of his parents, his very first heist with his gang, all of it. Something to make it feel more relatable that draws us in as gamers.
They could do that with a sequel, why not flashbacks?
@@VtnVivi maybe, but what if they did a reboot or revamp of the original games? Made it a bit grittier with better graphics and it's cartoon noir styles? That'd be epic. Make it be aimed towards those who enjoyed the game series as kids, and have it bring back a sense of nostalgia and happiness and maybe something bittersweet. Make it have personality and life, feeling. Sly was quiet, a bit of a sarcastic one, Bentley was always an awkward yet talkative guy, and Murray was loud and proud. They were ideal candidates for being outcasts and outlaws, and did a great job at being just that. Why can't they take the personalities from the characters, and give the world of Sly Cooper a bit more realism, with some grief, anger, laughter, resolve, peace, understanding, wisdom. Why can't a gaming company make something that's an old classic into something that'll make not only themselves proud, but us proud? I just want a Sly game that has some story and life to it.. I don't see why one would let a series die when it was a part of so many kids' lives. Many a kid popped sly in the ol' PS2 and played for hours again and again. It's something you can go back to and enjoy, no matter the graphics or age of the game.

I thought it was kinda funny, mostly I was confused by the fact that she was upset by wearing more clothing. That Shark story was hilarious.

I know a lot of people don't mind it but I seriously do not like what they did with her waistline. Not because "muh unrealistic standards!" But just cause it really looks unnatural and uncomfortable. It pulls in like a corset but being able to see her stomach and lack of that corset throws me off. If they were going to change the waistline so drastically I feel like they should've changed her outfit to cover it, or just made it look a little more natural. I just don't find it "adult" and "sexy". It's almost gross tbh.

I’m honestly not a fan of the change in art style for Sly 4. What you see during gameplay looks totally fine, but the 2D animated scenes just aren’t the same. In the previous games, it was like a comic book, but Sly 4 looks more like Loony Tunes.
